Gauge: 22 stitches and 32 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).
Back:
Cast on 123 stitches and work 1 wrong-side row knit.
Continue as follows: 42 rows Border Pattern, 4 rows Stockinette Stitch, 38 rows Lace Leaves Pattern, 4 rows Stockinette Stitch.
Then arrange the stitches as follows: edge stitch, 27 stitches Stockinette Stitch, 15 stitches Lace Diamond, 27 stitches Stockinette Stitch, 15 stitches Lace Diamond, 27 stitches Stockinette Stitch, edge stitch.
Work 14 rows in this arrangement, then work the Lace Diamond over the center 15 stitches.
At the same time, at 12.6 in = 103 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off 4 stitches at both sides for the armholes, then in every 2nd row bind off 2 stitches twice = 107 stitches.
At the same time, beginning with Row 103, work the first 16 stitches after the 4 bound-off stitches at the beginning of the row as follows: edge stitch, 5 stitches Stockinette Stitch, 10 stitches Lace Pattern A (repeat the pattern repeat twice, then work the stitches after the pattern repeat once); at the end of the row work the last 16 stitches before the 4 bound-off stitches as follows: 10 stitches Lace Pattern B (work the stitches before the pattern repeat once, repeat the pattern repeat twice), 5 stitches Stockinette Stitch, edge stitch.
Every 8 rows, expand the lace pattern toward the center by 12 stitches (= 3 pattern repeats) on both sides until all stitches are incorporated into the lace pattern.
At 20.9 in = 169 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 33 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
For neckline shaping, bind off 4 stitches once and 3 stitches once at the inner edge in every 2nd row.
At 21.5 in = 175 rows from the beginning, bind off the remaining 30 stitches of each shoulder.
Front:
Work as for the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, at 18.5 in = 151 rows from the beginning, bind off the center 9 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neckline shaping, bind off in every 2nd row: 5 stitches once, 4 stitches once, 3 stitches twice, and 2 stitches twice.
Sleeves:
Cast on 63 stitches for each sleeve and work 1 wrong-side row knit.
Continue as follows: 42 rows Border Pattern, 6 rows Stockinette Stitch, then work the Lace Diamond over the center 15 stitches.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping, beginning from the start, increase 1 stitch at both sides in every 4th row 14 times, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern = 91 stitches.
At 7.1 in = 57 rows from the beginning, bind off 4 stitches at both sides for the sleeve cap, then in every 2nd row bind off 2 stitches twice, 1 stitch 17 times, 2 stitches twice, 4 stitches twice, and 5 stitches once.
At the same time, beginning with Row 57, work the first 12 stitches after the 4 bound-off stitches as follows: edge stitch, 5 stitches Stockinette Stitch, 6 stitches Lace Pattern A (work the pattern repeat once, then the stitches after the pattern repeat once); at the end of the row work the last 12 stitches before the 4 bound-off stitches as follows: 6 stitches Lace Pattern B (work the stitches before the pattern repeat once, then the pattern repeat once), 5 stitches Stockinette Stitch, edge stitch.
Every 8 rows, expand the lace pattern toward the center by 12 stitches (= 3 pattern repeats) on both sides until all stitches are incorporated into the lace pattern.
At 13.2 in = 107 rows from the beginning, bind off the remaining 7 stitches.
