Cardigan with Squares Stitch Pattern

How to work a warm cardigan with Squares Stitch Pattern:
Size: US 20 / UK 24.
Materials:
900 g of yarn (80% acrylic, 20% polyamide, 110 m/100 g). Circular needles size 8 mm (US 11 / UK 0, length 80 cm). 3 auxiliary needles.
Ribbing Pattern 2/2: work alternately 2 purl stitches and 2 knit stitches.
Ribbing Pattern 3/3: work alternately 3 purl stitches and 3 knit stitches.
Squares Stitch Pattern: number of stitches multiple of 12 + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Work following the chart.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and 7 stitches before the pattern repeat, repeat the pattern throughout, end with 6 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat rows 1–36 throughout in height.
Gauge:
Squares Stitch Pattern = 12 sts × 16 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 in).
Work Back and Fronts together in one piece, starting from the bottom edge.
Cast on 154 sts and work 12 cm (4¾ in) in Ribbing Pattern 2/2, increasing evenly 14 sts in the last row = 168 sts.
Continue in Squares Stitch Pattern.
After 35 cm (13¾ in) from the cast-on edge, divide the stitches for back and fronts.
Work 36 sts for the right front, place 96 sts for the back on a holder, then place 36 sts for the left front on another holder.
Right Front:
Continue working 36 sts of the right front in Squares Stitch Pattern.
After 57 cm (22½ in) from the cast-on edge, place 12 sts for the collar on a holder and bind off the remaining 24 sts for the shoulder.

Left Front:
Place the 36 sts of the left front back on the needles and work in Squares Stitch Pattern.
After 57 cm (22½ in) from the cast-on edge, bind off 24 sts for the shoulder and place 12 sts for the collar on a holder.
Back:
Place the 96 sts from the holder back on the needles and continue in Squares Stitch Pattern.
After 57 cm (22½ in) from the cast-on edge, bind off 24 sts for each shoulder and place the 48 center sts for the collar on a holder.
Sleeves:
Cast on 40 sts and work 12 cm (4¾ in) in Ribbing Pattern 2/2, increasing evenly 14 sts in the last row = 54 sts.
Continue in Squares Stitch Pattern.
After 54 cm (21¼ in) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams (20 cm / 8 in each).
Sew sleeve seams (54 cm / 21¼ in) and set in sleeves (22 cm / 8¾ in armholes).
Collar:
Place all held collar stitches back on the needles in the following order: 12 sts of the right front, 48 sts of the back, and 12 sts of the left front = 72 sts.
Work the collar in Ribbing Pattern 3/3, increasing 6 sts evenly in the first row = 78 sts.
After 14 cm (5½ in) from the beginning, bind off all stitches.
Right Front Band and Right Collar Side:
Pick up 111 sts along the right front edge and along the right collar side, and work 5 cm (2 in) in Ribbing Pattern 3/3.
Bind off all stitches.
Left Front Band and Left Collar Side:
Pick up 111 sts along the left front edge and along the left collar side, and work 5 cm (2 in) in Ribbing Pattern 3/3.

Bind off all stitches.
