Lace Pattern Pullover
How to knit the Lace Pattern Pullover:  
Sizes: US 4–6 (8–10) 14–16 and UK 8–10 (12–14) 18–20
Materials:  
500 (550) 600 g yarn (50% cotton, 50% polyacrylic, 175 yds/50 g); straight needles size US 4 (3.5 mm) and circular needles size US 2½ (3 mm).
Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern: 
Number of stitches is a multiple of 24 + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work stitches as they appear on this side of the work; purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the stitches of the pattern repeat, end with the stitch after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Abbreviation:
k: knit stitch
yo: yarn over
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches
Written Instructions:
Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * p1, yo, k2, skpo, p5, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, p5, k2tog, k2, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.
Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work stitches as they appear on this side of work; purl the yarn overs.
Row 3: edge stitch, * p1, k1, yo, k2, skpo, p3, k2tog, yo, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, p3, k2tog, k2, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Repeat rows 1-16 throughout.  
Gauge: 25.5 stitches and 32 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm). 
Back:  
Cast on 123 (147) 171 stitches and work 1 wrong-side row in knit stitches (this row does not count in the measurements).
Continue in the lace pattern.  
After 24¾ in = 202 rows (25¾ in = 210 rows) 25¾ in = 210 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 51 (55) 55 stitches for the neck opening and finish each side separately.
For rounding the neckline, bind off at the inner edge every other row 1 time 3 stitches and 1 time 2 stitches.
Bind off the remaining 31 (41) 53 stitches for each shoulder at 25½ in = 208 rows (26½ in = 216 rows) 26½ in = 216 rows from the cast-on edge.
Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neckline.
To do this, at 24½ in = 198 rows (25½ in = 206 rows) 25½ in = 206 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 47 (51) 51 stitches.
For rounding the neckline, bind off at the inner edge every other row 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches, and 2 times 1 stitch.
pullover
Sleeves:
Cast on 75 stitches and work 1 wrong-side row in knit stitches (this row does not count in the measurements).
Continue in the lace pattern.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping, increase on both sides, beginning from the cast-on edge, 21 times 1 stitch in every 4th row (8 times 1 stitch in every 4th row and 18 times 1 stitch alternately in every 2nd and 4th row) 26 times 1 stitch alternately in every 2nd and 4th row and 5 times 1 stitch in every 4th row, including the increased stitches into the pattern = 117 (127) 137 stitches.
After 11 in = 90 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:  
Sew shoulder seams.  
For the neckband, using the circular needle, pick up 112 (120) 120 stitches evenly around the neckline and work 4 rounds in purl stitches, then bind off all stitches in pattern.
Set in the sleeves, sew side and sleeve seams.
