Work according to the chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Across the row, begin with 1 edge stitch, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with the stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Vertically, repeat rows 1 to 10 continuously.
Gauge in the main pattern: 21.5 stitches and 30.5 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 inches).
Back:
Cast on 98 stitches and work 6 cm (2.36 inches) in Ribbing Pattern for the lower band, at the same time in the last row increase evenly 14 (30) stitches = 112 (128) stitches.
Then continue working in the main pattern.
For the neckline, after 56 cm = 170 rows (22 inches) from the lower band, bind off the center 34 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For the neckline shaping at the inner edge, bind off in every second row 1 time 3 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches each, and 2 times 1 stitch.
Bind off the remaining 30 (38) shoulder stitches on each side after 60 cm = 182 rows (23.6 inches) from the lower band.
Front:
Work in the same way as the back.
Sleeves:
Cast on 48 stitches and work 6 cm (2.36 inches) in Ribbing Pattern for the lower band, at the same time in the last row increase evenly 26 stitches = 74 stitches.
Then continue working in the main pattern, beginning the pattern with the stitches from arrow A (stitches worked together and not compensated by yarn overs are replaced with 1 knit stitch).
At the same time, for the sleeve shaping from the lower band, increase on both sides 23 times alternately in every fourth and sixth row 1 stitch according to the pattern = 120 stitches.
After 39 cm = 120 rows (15.35 inches) from the lower band, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Close the seams, leaving the upper 28 cm (11 inches) open on each side seam for the armholes.
Pick up about 104 stitches from the neckline edge with the circular needle and work in Ribbing Pattern.
After a band height of 2.5 cm (1 inch), bind off the stitches as they appear.
Set in the sleeves.
