Lace Stripe Pullover with Short Sleeves

Written Instructions: Lace Stripe Pullover with Short Sleeves  

Size: EU 38 (US 8, UK 10)

Materials:  

600 g yarn (100% polyamide, 180 yd/50 g); knitting needles size 6 (US) / size 8 (UK).

Work throughout with yarn held double.

Garter stitch: knit all stitches in all rows.

Stockinette stitch: knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side.

Lace Stripes A: multiple of 12 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Row 1 (RS): 1 edge stitch, * knit 4, yarn over, double decrease (= slip 1 knitwise, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over), yarn over, knit 5 *; repeat from * to *, end with 1 edge stitch.

Rows 2 and 4 (WS): purl all stitches.

Row 3: knit all stitches.

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.

Lace Stripes B: multiple of 6 stitches + 5 + 2 edge stitches.

Row 1 (RS): 1 edge stitch, knit 1, * knit 3, yarn over, double decrease, yarn over *; repeat from * to *, end with knit 4, 1 edge stitch.

Rows 2 and 4 (WS): purl all stitches.

Row 3: knit all stitches.

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.

Stockinette stitch: 25 sts x 36 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).

Cast on 95 sts and work 6 rows in garter stitch (3 garter ridges).

Continue in Lace Stripes A.

After 4 in (10 cm) from the cast-on edge, for waist shaping decrease 1 st on each side every 16th row 3 times, work 20 rows even, then increase 1 st on each side every 16th row 3 times.

After 14.5 in (37 cm) from the cast-on edge, continue in Lace Stripes B.

After 15.75 in (40 cm) from the cast-on edge, for armholes bind off at each side every other row 1 time 5 sts, 1 time 2 sts, and 1 time 1 st.

After 7.5 in (19 cm) from the beginning of the armholes, bind off the center 41 sts for the neck and finish each side separately.

After 8 in (20 cm) from the beginning of the armholes, bind off all stitches.

Front:  

Work as for back, but with a deeper neckline.

For this, after 4 in (10 cm) from the beginning of the armholes, bind off the center 19 sts, then at the neck edge bind off every other row 1 time 3 sts, 2 times 2 sts, and 4 times 1 st.

After 8 in (20 cm) from the beginning of the armholes, bind off all stitches.

Cast on 65 sts and work 4 rows in garter stitch (2 garter ridges).

Continue in Lace Stripes B, increasing 1 st on each side every 3rd row 2 times.

After 2 in (5 cm) from the cast-on edge, for sleeve cap bind off at each side every other row 1 time 5 sts, 1 time 2 sts, 1 time 1 st; then every 3rd row 6 times 2 sts; then every other row 4 times 2 sts.

Bind off remaining stitches.

Sew one shoulder seam.

Pick up evenly 119 sts around neckline, work 6 rows in garter stitch (3 ridges), and bind off all sts.

Sew the second shoulder seam together with the neckband.

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
