Lace Stripe Sweater

How to knit the Lace Stripe Sweater:
Sizes: US 6–8 (10–12), UK 10–12 (14–16), EU 36–38 (42–44)
Materials:
700 (750) g cotton yarn (100% cotton, 104 m/50 g / approximately 114 yd/1.76 oz); US 4 knitting needles (3.5 mm); US 2½ short circular needle (3 mm).

Lace Pattern (over 13 stitches):
Work according to the chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work stitches as they appear; work the yarn overs knit from Rows 1–10 and purl from Rows 11–22.
Begin with the stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, and end with the stitches after the pattern repeat.
For the borders, work Rows 1–10 three times, then repeat Rows 11–22 throughout.
For the neckline, work Rows 1–10 in the round.
For this, on the wrong-side rounds work stitches as they appear and purl the yarn overs.

Gauge: 24.5 stitches and 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).

Back:
Cast on 133 (146) stitches and work in the Lace Pattern.
After 58 cm (22.75 in) from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 33 (32) stitches for the neckline and finish each side separately.
At the neckline edge, bind off 3 stitches twice on every second row.
After 60 cm (23.5 in) from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining 44 (51) shoulder stitches.

Front:
Work as for the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, after 52 cm (20.5 in) from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 19 (18) stitches and finish each side separately.
For the neckline shaping, bind off 3 stitches once and 2 stitches five times at the inner edge on every second row.
After the neckline measures 8 cm (3.25 in), bind off the remaining 44 (51) shoulder stitches.

Sleeves:
Cast on 54 stitches and work in the Lace Pattern, beginning at Arrow A.
For the sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side on every third row 41 times, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern.
After 42 cm (16.5 in) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams.
Using the short circular needle, pick up 104 stitches around the neckline and work 10 rows in the Lace Pattern, beginning at Arrow A, then bind off all stitches.
Sew the side and sleeve seams. Set in the sleeves.
