Lace Summer Top Knitting Pattern
How to knit the Lace Pattern Top:
Sizes: US 8 (US 10-12) US 14
Finished measurements:
bust: 35.5 (40.25) 45 inches / 90 (102) 114 cm,
length: 21.25 (22) 22.75 inches / 54 (56) 58 cm.
Materials:
200 (250) 250 g yarn (52% bamboo, 48% cotton, 153 yds/50 g), US 2 and US 4 knitting needles (3 mm and 3.5 mm); US C-2 crochet hook (3 mm).
Garter stitch: knit all stitches on right-side and wrong-side rows.
Lace Patterns 1 and 2:
Work according to charts 1 and 2, which show both right-side and wrong-side rows.
Gauge: 24 stitches = 4 inches / 10 cm.
Back:
Using US 2 knitting needles, cast on 116 (132) 148 stitches and work the 1st row purl.
Then work 4 rows in garter stitch.
Change to US 4 knitting needles and work Lace Pattern 1.
When the piece measures 3.25 (3.5) 4 inches / 8 (9) 10 cm from the cast-on edge, decrease 1 stitch at each side for waist shaping, working 1 stitch in from each edge.
Repeat these decreases 3 more times every 1.5 inches / 4 cm = 108 (124) 140 stitches.
Continue with Lace Pattern 2.
When the piece measures 15 (15.25) 15.75 inches / 38 (39) 40 cm from the beginning, shape armholes by binding off at each side on every 2nd row: 1 x 3 (4) 6 stitches, 2 (3) 3 x 2 stitches and 5 (6) 6 x 1 stitch = 84 (92) 100 stitches.
When the armhole measures 2.75 (3.25) 3.5 inches / 7 (8) 9 cm, work in garter stitch.
When the armhole measures 6.25 (6.75) 7 inches / 16 (17) 18 cm, bind off all stitches.
Front:
Work as for the Back until the armhole measures 2.75 (3.25) 3.5 inches / 7 (8) 9 cm.
Then work 0.75 inch / 2 cm in garter stitch.
For the neckline, bind off the center 18 (20) 22 stitches and complete each side separately.
When the armhole measures 6.25 (6.75) 7 inches / 16 (17) 18 cm, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder and side seams.
Crochet 1 round of single crochet around the armholes and lower edge of the top.
