How to work the Lace Tunic Dress with knitting needles:
Size: US 10–12 / UK 14–16 / EU 40–42
Materials:
700 g of yarn (100% cotton, 175 m/100 g); knitting needles size US 7 (4.5 mm) and crochet hook size G-6 (4 mm).
Stockinette stitch: Right-side rows – work knit stitches, wrong-side rows – work purl stitches.
Lace Pattern:
Work following the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work all stitches and yarn overs as purl.
Repeat rows 1–24 throughout.
Gauge: 18 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Back:
Cast on 93 sts and work 1 wrong-side row in knit stitches.
Continue in lace pattern: edge st, 8 sts before the repeat, 4 repeats of 18 sts, 11 sts after the repeat, edge st.
At 28 cm from the beginning, for waist shaping decrease 1 st on each side in every 6th row 5 times (= 83 sts). Work the stitches before the repeat and the last stitches in stockinette stitch.
At 56 cm from the beginning, for the armholes bind off on each side in every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, and 1 st once (= 71 sts).
At 73 cm from the beginning, for the neckline bind off the center 23 sts and finish each side separately.
For rounding, bind off 5 sts once at the inner edge in the next 2nd row.
At 74 cm from the beginning, bind off the remaining 19 sts of the shoulder.
Front:
Work as for the back, but for the neckline at 60 cm from the beginning work into the center st: knit 1, knit 1 twisted. Divide the stitches in half and finish each side separately.
For rounding of the neckline after 8 cm bind off in every 2nd row 9 sts once, 4 sts once, 2 sts once, and 1 st two times.
At 74 cm from the beginning, bind off the remaining 19 sts of the shoulder.
Sleeves:
Cast on 63 sts and work 1 wrong-side row in knit stitches.
Continue as follows: edge st, 12 sts in stockinette stitch, 37 sts in lace pattern, 12 sts in stockinette stitch, edge st.
At 8 cm from the beginning, for the sleeve cap bind off on each side in every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st eight times, 2 sts two times, 3 sts two times, and finally bind off the remaining 17 sts once.
Work the second sleeve in the same way.
Finishing:
Sew the side and shoulder seams.
Crochet around the neckline and the front slit with 1 round of single crochet stitches.
