Leaf Lace Sweater

How to knit the Leaf Lace Sweater:
Sizes: US 8–12 / UK 12–16 / EU 40–44
Materials:
850 g cotton-viscose yarn (approximately 2,040 m / 2,231 y, 120 m / 50 g); knitting needles size 3 mm and 4 mm (US 2.5 and US 6), and 3 mm circular needles (US 2.5).

Ribbing Pattern: alternate 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.

Leaf Lace Pattern (over 26 stitches):
Work according to the chart.
The chart shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches and yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 1 stitch after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat Rows 1–56 throughout.

Gauge: 25 stitches and 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).

Back:
Using 3 mm needles, cast on 140 stitches and work 4 cm (1.6 in) in Ribbing Pattern, increasing 19 stitches evenly across the last row = 159 stitches.
Change to 4 mm needles and continue in Leaf Lace Pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, work the pattern repeat 6 times, 1 stitch after the pattern repeat, 1 edge stitch.
After 70 cm (27.5 in) from the ribbing, bind off the center 25 stitches and complete both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off 6 stitches twice at the neck edge on every 2nd row.
After 2 cm (0.8 in) from the beginning of the neckline, bind off the remaining stitches of each shoulder.

Front:
Work as for the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
After 64 cm (25.25 in) from the ribbing, bind off the center 19 stitches and complete both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off at the neck edge on every 2nd row: 4 stitches once, 3 stitches once, 2 stitches 3 times and 1 stitch twice.
After 8 cm (3.25 in) from the beginning of the neckline, bind off the remaining stitches of each shoulder.

Sleeves:
Using 3 mm needles, cast on 50 stitches for each sleeve and work 6 cm (2.4 in) in Ribbing Pattern; increase 40 stitches evenly across the last row = 90 stitches.
Change to 4 mm needles and continue in Leaf Lace Pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, the last 18 stitches of the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat 2 times, the first 18 stitches of the pattern repeat, 1 edge stitch.
For sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side on every 4th row 26 times and on every 3rd row 4 times, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern.
After 37 cm (14.5 in) from the ribbing, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Join the shoulder seams.
Using the circular needles, pick up 120 stitches around the neckline and work 4 cm (1.6 in) in Ribbing Pattern, then bind off all stitches.
Join the side and sleeve seams. Set in the sleeves.
