Leaf Stitch Sweater

How to knit the Sweater in the Leaf Stitch pattern:
Sizes: US 8/10 (14/16) / UK 12/14 (18/20).
Materials:
600 (650) g yarn (100% cotton; 110 m/50 g ≈ 120 yd/1.76 oz). Knitting needles US 4 (3.5 mm) and crochet hook US E-4 (3.5 mm).
Leaf Stitch pattern, needles 3.5 mm (US 4): number of stitches multiple of 17 + 2 edge stitches.
The number of stitches in the rows changes.
Row 1 and Row 3 (wrong-side rows): purl stitches.
Row 2 (right-side row): edge stitch, * knit 1, yarn over, knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 together 3 times, knit 2, yarn over, knit 3, yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, yarn over, knit 1, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 4: edge stitch, * knit 1, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 3 together twice, yarn over, knit 1, yarn over, knit 2, twice (slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, yarn over), knit 1, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 5: edge stitch, * purl 10, purl 2 together, purl 3, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 6: edge stitch, knit 1, yarn over, knit 3 together, yarn over, knit 3, yarn over, knit 2, twice (slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, yarn over), knit 1, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 7, Row 9 and Row 11: purl stitches.

Row 12: edge stitch, * knit 1, twice (yarn over, knit 2 together), knit 2, yarn over, knit 1, yarn over, twice slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitches, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, yarn over, knit 1, repeat from *, edge stitch.

Row 13: edge stitch, * purl 3, purl 2 together, purl 10, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 14: edge stitch, * knit 1, twice (yarn over, knit 2 together), knit 2, yarn over, knit 3, yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitches, yarn over, knit 1, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 15: purl stitches.
Row 16: edge stitch, * knit 1, yarn over, knit 2 together, yarn over, twice (knit 2 together, knit 2, yarn over), knit 1, yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, yarn over, knit 1, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 17: purl stitches.
Repeat Row 2 to Row 17.
Gauge: 24 stitches x 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).
Back:
Cast on 138 (155) stitches and work in the Leaf Stitch pattern.
At a height of 64 cm (25.2 in) bind off the middle 56 (57) stitches for the neckline, then on both sides in every second row bind off 3 stitches once and 2 stitches once.
At a height of 66 cm (26 in) bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.
Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, at a height of 59 cm (23.2 in) bind off the middle 34 (35) stitches, then on both sides in every second row bind off 4 stitches once, 3 stitches twice, 2 stitches twice and 1 stitch twice.
At a height of 66 cm (26 in) bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.
Sleeves:
Cast on 53 stitches and work in the Leaf Stitch pattern.
For the sleeve shaping increase on both sides in every 4th row 17 times 1 stitch (11 times 1 stitch), then alternately in every 2nd and 4th row 18 times 1 stitch (26 times 1 stitch) = 123 (127) stitches.
At a height of 44 cm (17.3 in) bind off all stitches.
Work the second sleeve in the same way.
Finishing:
Join the shoulder seams.
Crochet the edges of the front, back and sleeves and the neckline with 1 round of single crochet and 1 round of crab stitch (single crochet worked from left to right).
Join the side seams and sleeve seams. Set in the sleeves.
