Long Sweater in Lace Stitch Pattern

How to knit the Lace Sweater:
Sizes: EU 38/40 (46/48) – UK 10/12 (18/20) – US 6/8 (14/16)
Materials:
500 (600) g wool and acrylic yarn (165 m/50 g; approx. 180 yds/1.75 oz). Needles 3 mm and 3.5 mm (US 2½ and US 4).
Garter Stitch, 3 mm (US 2½) needles: work all rows knit.
Pattern for the band, 3 mm (US 2½) needles: multiple of 18 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to Chart 1, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern repeat throughout, end with stitches after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Work rows 1–18 once.
Lace Stitch Pattern, 3.5 mm (US 4) needles: multiple of 27 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to Chart 2, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Between edge stitches, repeat the pattern repeat throughout and rows 1–36 throughout.
Gauge: 24 stitches and 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).
Back:
Cast on 129 (147) stitches and work 6 cm = 18 rows (2⅜ inches) in Pattern for the band, increasing evenly 8 (17) stitches in the last row = 137 (164) stitches.
Continue in Lace Stitch Pattern.
For the neckline, at 65 cm = 208 rows (25½ inches) from the band, bind off the center 25 (30) stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neckline shaping, bind off at each 2nd row 1 time 4 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches and 1 time 2 stitches.
At 67.5 cm = 216 rows (26½ inches) from the band, bind off the remaining 47 (58) shoulder stitches.
Front:
Work as for Back, but with deeper neckline.
At 60 cm = 192 rows (23⅝ inches) from the band, bind off the center 13 (18) stitches, then for neckline shaping at each 2nd row bind off 2 times 3 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches and 5 times 1 stitch.
Sleeves:
Cast on 57 stitches and work 6 cm = 18 rows (2⅜ inches) in Pattern for the band, increasing evenly 18 stitches in the last row = 75 stitches.
Continue in Lace Stitch Pattern, beginning with 1 edge stitch and stitches from arrow A, work the pattern repeat once, end with stitches to arrow B and 1 edge stitch.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping increase on both sides from the band 25 times alternately in every 4th and 6th row (30 times in every 4th row) 1 stitch = 125 (135) stitches.
At 40 cm = 128 rows (15¾ inches) (38 cm = 122 rows / 15 inches) from the band, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Work shoulder seams.
For the neckband, pick up 147 stitches and work 6 cm = 18 rows (2⅜ inches) in Ribbing Pattern, then bind off all stitches.
Join the band and sew it to the neckline edge so that the seam is on the inside.
Work side seams, leaving the upper 26 (28) cm (10¼ (11) inches) open for armholes.
