Front:
Cast on 126 stitches plus 2 edge stitches and work 7 cm (2¾ in) in Cable Grid Pattern (for the long version with US size 7 needles).
In the last row, increase 1 stitch (evenly distributed 7 stitches) = 129 (135) stitches.
Work as follows: edge stitch, 4 (7) stitches in reverse stockinette, 4 stitches in stockinette, 111 stitches in Main Pattern (repeat the pattern repeat throughout and end in pattern), 4 stitches in stockinette, 4 (7) stitches in reverse stockinette, edge stitch.
At 43 cm (17 in) total length, for the armholes bind off 2 (3) stitches on each side, then in every 2nd row bind off 1 (3) times 2 and 5 (3) times 1 stitch = 111 stitches.
At 65 cm (25½ in) total length, bind off the center 23 stitches for the neckline and finish each side separately. At the neck edge, bind off 1 time 4, 1 time 3, and 2 times 2 stitches in every 2nd row.
At 71 cm (28 in) total length, bind off the remaining stitches.
Back:
Work the same as the front, but at 69 cm (27 in) total length bind off the center 37 stitches for the neckline and on each side bind off 2 times 2 stitches in every 2nd row.
Sleeves:

In the last row, increase 17 stitches evenly = 73 stitches.
Work as follows: edge stitch, 3 stitches in stockinette, 65 stitches in Main Pattern, 3 stitches in stockinette, edge stitch.
For sleeve shaping, after 4 rows, increase 1 stitch in stockinette on each side, then increase 1 stitch in the Ribbing Pattern every 4th row 26 times = 127 stitches.
At 43 cm (17 in) total length, for the sleeve cap bind off 2 (1) stitches on each side, in every 2nd row bind off 2 (0) times 2, 3 (8) times 1 stitch, and then bind off the remaining stitches = 47 (48.5) cm (18½–19 in) total length.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Pick up 126 stitches around the neckline and work 12 rounds in Cable Grid Pattern, then bind off all stitches.
Fold sleeves to center and sew in place. Sew remaining seams.
