Long Sweater with Fantasy Pattern

How to knit the long sweater with a fantasy pattern:
Sizes: EU 36-40 (42-46) / US 4-8 (10-14) / UK 8-12 (14-18).
Materials:
1050 (1250) g /37 (44) oz yarn (100% cotton, 115 yd/1.75 oz); straight needles size US 2.5 and US 6 (3 mm and 4 mm); short circular needles size US 2.5 (3 mm); cable needle.

Reverse Stocking Stitch: on right-side rows purl stitches, on wrong-side rows knit stitches.
Ribbing Pattern over 10 sts:
Work according to chart 1, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the twisted stitches through the back loop.
Repeat the pattern repeat of 10 stitches and 4 rows throughout.
Fantasy Panel over 32 sts:
Work according to chart 2, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the twisted stitches through the back loop.
Repeat rows 1 to 68 throughout.
Cable Pattern over 16 or 22 sts respectively:
Work according to chart 3, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches.
For size 42-46, work an additional 3 stitches in Reverse Stocking Stitch on both sides.
Repeat rows 1 to 16 throughout.

Gauge: 31 sts and 34 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).

Back:
Cast on 152 (162) sts with needles size US 2.5 and work 1.5 in (4 cm) in Ribbing Pattern, in the last row increase 22 (30) sts evenly.
Change to needles size US 6 and arrange the stitches as follows: 2 x * 10 sts Ribbing Pattern, 16 (22) sts Cable Pattern, 10 sts Ribbing Pattern, 32 sts Fantasy Panel *, 10 sts Ribbing Pattern, 16 (22) sts Cable Pattern, 10 sts Ribbing Pattern.
At 26 in (66 cm) from ribbing bind off 3 x 7 sts for the neckline.
Bind off remaining stitches 0.75 in (2 cm) after beginning of neckline shaping.


Front:
Work as back, but with deeper neckline.
For this, at 23.5 in (60 cm) from ribbing bind off the center 18 sts and finish both sides separately.
For neckline shaping, bind off in every 2nd row: 1 x 5 sts, 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts, 4 x 2 sts and 2 x 1 st.
Bind off remaining stitches at 3 in (8 cm) from beginning of neckline shaping.

Sleeves:
Cast on 62 (72) sts with needles size US 2.5 and work 2 in (5 cm) in Ribbing Pattern, in the last row increase 50 (40) sts evenly.
Change to needles size US 6 and arrange the stitches as follows: last 5 (2) sts Ribbing Pattern, 32 sts Fantasy Panel, 10 sts Ribbing Pattern, 16 (22) sts Cable Pattern, 10 sts Ribbing Pattern, 32 sts Fantasy Panel and first 5 (2) sts Ribbing Pattern.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping increase on both sides 17 x 1 st in every 4th row and 20 x 1 st in every 3rd row, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern as established for the back.
At 11 in (28 cm) from ribbing bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Work shoulder seams.
Pick up 150 sts around the neckline using circular needles and work 16 rounds in Ribbing Pattern, then bind off all stitches in pattern.
Set in sleeves, matching the center of the sleeve with the shoulder seam.
Work side seams and sleeve seams.
