Gauge:
Eyelet Band and Wave Pattern: 19.5 stitches and 31.5 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm);
Main Pattern: 19.5 stitches and 27 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).

Back:
Cast on 106 (119) stitches and work a 2.75 in (7 cm) hem in Pattern Sequence, increasing 4 (9) stitches evenly across the last row = 110 (128) stitches.
Then work as follows: edge stitch, 0 (9) stitches Stockinette Stitch, 108 stitches Main Pattern, 0 (9) stitches Stockinette Stitch, edge stitch.
After 25 in (63.5 cm) = 172 rows from the hem, bind off the center 34 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off at the inside edge every second row 3 stitches once and 2 stitches once.
After 26 in (66 cm) = 178 rows from the hem, bind off the remaining 33 (42) shoulder stitches.

Front:
Work as for the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, after 22.75 in (58 cm) = 156 rows from the hem, bind off the center 22 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off at the inside edge every second row 3 stitches once, 2 stitches twice, and 1 stitch four times.
Bind off the remaining 33 (42) shoulder stitches at the same height as the Back.

Sleeves:
Cast on 41 stitches and work the hem as for the Back, increasing 15 stitches evenly across the last row = 56 stitches.
Continue in Main Pattern.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping, beginning at the hem, increase 1 stitch at each side every 4th row 25 times, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern = 106 stitches.
After 15 in (38 cm) = 102 rows from the hem, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Join shoulder seams.
Using the circular needle and beginning at the center back, pick up 80 stitches around the neckline and work 8 rows of Eyelet Band in rows, then bind off all stitches and sew the short edges of the neckband together.
Join side seams, leaving the upper 10.75 in (27 cm) open for the armholes.
Join sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
