Pastel Lace Sweater

How to knit the Lace Sweater:
Sizes: US 4/6 (US 8/10) 12/14, UK 8/10 (UK 12/14) 16/18, EU 34/36 (38/40) 42/44
Materials:
Approximately 520 (560) 600 grams of gradient yarn shading from blue to white = 1 large cake each for the front and back, and 1 small cake each for the sleeves (100% cotton, 153 yards per 1.76 ounces); US 2.5 knitting needles; US steel crochet hook 4.

Lace Pattern:
Work with a multiple of 12 stitches + 11 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to the chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work stitches as they appear and purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with the stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat Rows 1–82 throughout.

Gauge: 28 stitches and 36 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 centimeters).

Back:
Using yarn from the large cake, cast on 145 (157) 169 stitches and work in the Lace Pattern.
After 23.5 inches = 216 rows (23.5 inches = 216 rows) 25.5 inches = 234 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 47 stitches for the neckline and finish each side separately.
For neckline shaping, bind off 2 stitches twice at the neck edge on every second row.
After 24.5 inches = 222 rows (24.5 inches = 222 rows) 26.5 inches = 240 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining 45 (51) 57 shoulder stitches on each side.

Front:
Work as for the Back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, after 22 inches = 202 rows (22 inches = 202 rows) 24 inches = 220 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off the center 43 stitches and finish each side separately.
For neckline shaping, bind off 2 stitches once and 1 stitch once at the neck edge on every second row, then bind off 1 stitch 3 times on every fourth row.

Sleeves:
Using yarn from the small cake, cast on 73 stitches for each sleeve and work in the Lace Pattern.
For sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side 22 times alternately on every fourth and sixth row, then 8 times on every sixth row (22 times alternately on every fourth and sixth row, then 8 times on every sixth row) 7 times on every fourth row, then 26 times alternately on every fourth and sixth row, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern = 133 (133) 139 stitches.
After 18 inches = 164 rows (45.5 centimeters = 164 rows) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams.
Using white yarn, work 1 round of single crochet and 1 round of reverse single crochet around the neckline.
Set in the sleeves, then sew the side and sleeve seams.
