Pullover with Fantasy Pattern
How to work the pullover with fantasy pattern:
Sizes (US/UK): 6/8, 10/12, 14/16, 18/20, 22/24 (European sizes: 34/36, 38/40, 42/44, 46/48, 50/52)
Materials:
350/400/450/500/550 g yarn (50% cotton, 50% modal, 178 yds/50 g); US 2.5 / UK 12 needles.
Ribbing Pattern (2/2): work *2 knit sts, 2 purl sts*, repeat throughout.
Reverse Stockinette Stitch: right side rows – purl sts, wrong side rows – knit sts.
Fantasy Pattern: work according to the chart, which shows right side and wrong side rows.
Between the edge stitches, repeat the stitches of the pattern repeat throughout.
In height, repeat rows 1–10 throughout.
Gauge:
Fantasy Pattern: 24 sts and 32 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).
Back:
Cast on 122/132/142/152/152 sts and work in Ribbing Pattern (2/2).
After 2 in (5 cm), continue in Fantasy Pattern, beginning and ending with 1 edge st.
At 18/18.5/19.25/20/21 in (46/47/49/51/53 cm) from cast-on, for shoulder shaping bind off at each side in every 2nd row: 1 time 7 sts, 4 times 6 sts / 1 time 8 sts, 4 times 7 sts / 1 time 9 sts, 4 times 8 sts / 1 time 10 sts, 4 times 9 sts / 1 time 11 sts, 4 times 10 sts.
At the same time, for the neckline bind off the center 30 sts and finish both sides separately.
For rounding, along the neckline edge bind off in every 2nd row 3 times 5 sts.
Note:
When decreasing for the neckline, before binding off, work 2 sts together.
Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, at 13.5/13.75/14.5/15.25/16 in (34/35/37/39/41 cm) from cast-on, bind off the center 20 sts and finish both sides separately.
For rounding, along the neckline edge bind off in every 2nd row 2 times 5 sts, 2 times 3 sts, and 4 times 1 st.
At 18/18.5/19.25/20/21 in (46/47/49/51/53 cm) from cast-on, for shoulder shaping bind off at each side in every 2nd row: 1 time 7 sts, 4 times 6 sts / 1 time 8 sts, 4 times 7 sts / 1 time 9 sts, 4 times 8 sts / 1 time 10 sts, 4 times 9 sts / 1 time 11 sts, 4 times 10 sts.
Sleeves:
Cast on 62/72/72/82/82 sts and work in Ribbing Pattern (2/2).
After 1.25 in (3 cm), continue in Fantasy Pattern and for sleeve shaping increase at each side as follows:
– in every 6th row 2 times 1 st, in every 4th row 4 times 1 st /
– in every 6th row 4 times 1 st, in every 4th row 1 time 1 st, in every 4th row 6 times 1 st, in every 2nd row 2 times 1 st /
– in every 4th row 7 times 1 st /
– in every 4th row 3 times 1 st, in every 2nd row 8 times 1 st = 74/82/88/96/104 sts.
After 5.5 in (14 cm) from cast-on, for the sleeve cap bind off at each side in every 2nd row:
4 times 3 sts, 6 times 2 sts / 8 times 3 sts, 2 times 2 sts / 1 time 4 sts, 9 times 3 sts / 5 times 4 sts, 5 times 3 sts / 9 times 4 sts, 1 time 3 sts, and finally bind off the remaining 26 sts.
Finishing:
Join one shoulder seam.
Along the neckline, pick up 126 sts and work in Ribbing Pattern (2/2), beginning and ending with 1 edge st.
After 1 in (2.5 cm), bind off all sts.
Sew the second shoulder seam and the neckband seam.
Set in sleeves, sew side seams and sleeve seams.
