How to knit the Two-Tone Pullover
Size: US 10–12 / UK 14–16
Material:
200 g of white yarn and 200 grams of mint-colored yarn (100 percent cotton; 200 meters per 100 grams); knitting needles size 7 (4.5 mm).
Garter stitch: Knit all stitches in both right-side and wrong-side rows.
Mesh Pattern:
Work according to Chart 1, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear and purl all yarn overs.
Repeat rows 1 to 4 throughout.
Central Pattern:
Work according to Chart 1, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear and purl all yarn overs.
Repeat rows 1 to 14 throughout.
Gauge: 16 stitches and 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) in pattern.
Back:
Cast on 77 stitches (use a different color for the front and back pieces).
Work in the following pattern: edge stitch, 26 stitches in mesh pattern, 23 stitches in central pattern, 26 stitches in mesh pattern, edge stitch.
When the piece measures 28 cm (11 in) from the cast-on edge (after four vertical repeats of the central pattern), switch to the other color yarn.
When the piece measures 56 cm (22 in), work 4 rows in garter stitch and bind off all stitches.
Front:
Work the same as for the back.
Sleeves:
Cast on 40 stitches and work in mesh pattern.
To shape the sleeve, increase 1 stitch on each side every 8th row, 10 times in total (= 60 stitches).
When the piece measures 28 cm (11 in), switch to the other color yarn.
When the piece measures 42 cm (16.5 in), bind off all stitches.
Second sleeve:
Work the same as the first sleeve, but begin with the other color.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder and side seams.
Sew sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
