Sweater in a Stitch Mix

How to knit the Sweater with various stitch patterns:
Sizes: US 8/10 (16/18); UK 12/14 (20/22)
Materials:
650 (750) g yarn (50 percent pure wool, 50 percent cotton, 140 m per 50 g); straight knitting needles 3 mm (US 2.5, UK 11) and 3.5 mm (US 4, UK 9); circular knitting needle 3 mm (US 2.5, UK 11).

Ribbing Pattern, 3 mm needles: Work alternately 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.
Main Pattern, 3.5 mm needles: Number of stitches divisible by 34 + 1 (21) + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to the chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, then repeat the pattern stitches throughout, end with the stitch after the pattern and 1 edge stitch (alternatively, begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches up to arrow A, repeat the pattern stitches, end with the stitches up to arrow B and 1 edge stitch; in rows 21 and 23, work knit stitches instead of crossed stitches).

Pattern sequence:
Work rows 1 to 4 twelve times, work rows 5 to 44 once, work rows 45 to 54 three times, work rows 55 to 92 once, then repeat rows 93 to 102 throughout.
For the sleeves, work rows 1 to 4 three times, work rows 5 to 44 once, then repeat rows 45 to 54 throughout.

Gauge: 25 stitches and 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).

Back:
Cast on 134 (154) stitches and work 5 cm in the Ribbing Pattern.
In the last row, increase 5 stitches evenly spaced = 139 (159) stitches.
Then work in the Main Pattern.
After 60.5 cm = 194 rows from the ribbing, bind off the center 39 (43) stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
For the neckline shaping, bind off at the inner edge every second row 1 time 3 stitches and 1 time 2 stitches.
After 62.5 cm = 200 rows from the ribbing, bind off the remaining 45 (53) stitches.

Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neckline.
After 55 cm = 176 rows from the ribbing, bind off the center 29 (33) stitches.
For the neckline shaping, bind off every second row 1 time 3 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches, and 3 times 1 stitch.

Sleeves:
Cast on 48 (52) stitches and work 4 cm in the Ribbing Pattern.
In the last row, increase 23 (19) stitches evenly spaced = 71 stitches.
Then work in the Main Pattern.
For the sleeve shaping, increase on both sides from the ribbing, every fourth row 29 times 1 stitch (alternatively, every fourth row 27 times 1 stitch and every second row 5 times 1 stitch), working the increased stitches into the pattern = 129 (135) stitches.
After 37.5 cm = 120 rows from the ribbing, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Work the shoulder seams.
Pick up 112 (120) stitches around the neckline with the circular needle and work 1 round purl, then 2.5 cm in the Ribbing Pattern.
Bind off all stitches following the pattern.
Set in the sleeves and work the side seams and sleeve seams.
