Sweater in Diamond and Cable Pattern

How to knit the sweater in diamond and cable pattern:
Sizes: EU 40/42 (44/46) / UK 12/14 (16/18) / US 8/10 (12/14).
Materials:
700 (800) g yarn (100% cotton; 130 m/50 g / approx. 142 yds/1.76 oz). Needles 2.5 mm (US 1–2) and 3.5 mm (US 4); circular needles 2.5 mm (US 1–2), 40 cm / 16 inches.

Ribbing Pattern, needles 2.5 mm: work alternately 2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches.
Reverse Stockinette Stitch, needles 3.5 mm: right-side rows – purl stitches, wrong-side rows – knit stitches.
Gauge: 24 stitches x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.
Cable 1 over 10 stitches, needles 3.5 mm:
Row 1 (right side): p1, k8, p1.
Row 2 (wrong side): work stitches as they appear.
Row 3: p1, cross 8 stitches to the right (= place 4 stitches on a cable needle and hold at back, k4, then knit stitches from the cable needle), p1.
Rows 4–6: work stitches as they appear.
Repeat Rows 1 to 6 throughout.
10 stitches = 2.5 cm / 1 inch wide.
Cable 2 over 12 stitches, needles 3.5 mm:
Row 1 (right side): * p1, k4, p1, repeat from * once.
Rows 2 and 4 (wrong side): work stitches as they appear.
Row 3: * p1, cross 4 stitches to the left (= place 2 stitches on a cable needle and hold in front, k2, then knit stitches from the cable needle), p1, repeat from * once.
Repeat Rows 1 to 4 throughout.
12 stitches = 3 cm / 1.2 inches wide.
Cable 3 over 12 stitches, needles 3.5 mm:
Row 1 (right side): * p1, k2, p1, repeat from * twice.
Rows 2 and 4 (wrong side): work stitches as they appear.
Row 3: * p1, cross 2 stitches to the left (= place 1 stitch on a cable needle and hold in front, k1, then knit stitch from the cable needle), p1, repeat from * twice.
Repeat Rows 1 to 4 throughout.
12 stitches = 4 cm / 1.6 inches wide.
Lace Cable Pattern over 18 stitches, needles 3.5 mm:
Work according to chart 1, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1 to 16 throughout.
18 stitches = 6.5 cm / 2.6 inches wide.
Diamond Pattern over 18 stitches, needles 3.5 mm:
Work according to chart 2, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1 to 30 throughout.
18 stitches = 6.5 cm / 2.6 inches wide.
Cable with Honeycomb Pattern over 16 stitches, needles 3.5 mm:
Work according to chart 3, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear.
Repeat Rows 1 to 12 throughout.
16 stitches = 4.5 cm / 1.8 inches wide.

Front:
Cast on 142 (158) stitches and work 7 cm / 2.75 inches in Ribbing Pattern, increasing evenly 46 (50) stitches in the last row = 188 (208) stitches.
Continue as follows: 1 edge stitch (1 edge stitch and 10 stitches Cable 1), 12 stitches Cable 2, 18 stitches Lace Cable Pattern, 18 stitches Diamond Pattern, 2 times 10 stitches Cable 1, 12 stitches Cable 3, 10 stitches Cable 1, 16 stitches Cable with Honeycomb Pattern, 18 stitches Diamond Pattern, 18 stitches Lace Cable Pattern, 2 times 10 stitches Cable 1, 12 stitches Cable 2, 12 stitches Cable 3, for size 44/46 additionally 10 stitches Cable 1, 1 edge stitch.
At a height of 57 (58) cm / 22.5 (22.75) inches, divide for shoulders: 60 (70) stitches from right edge, 64 (74) stitches from left edge.
From the remaining 64 stitches bind off the middle 34 stitches for neckline, then on both sides in every 2nd row bind off 2 times 3 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches and 5 times 1 stitch.
At a height of 65 (66) cm / 25.5 (26) inches bind off remaining shoulder stitches.
Back:
Work as front, but arrange patterns symmetrically, and divide shoulder stitches symmetrically.
At a height of 63 (64) cm / 24.75 (25.25) inches divide shoulder stitches and bind off the middle 44 stitches for neckline, then on both sides in every 2nd row bind off 2 times 5 stitches.
At a height of 65 (66) cm / 25.5 (26) inches bind off remaining shoulder stitches.
Sleeves:
Cast on 58 stitches and work 6 cm / 2.4 inches in Ribbing Pattern, increasing evenly 28 stitches in the last row = 86 stitches.
Continue as follows: 1 edge stitch, 10 stitches Cable 1, 12 stitches Cable 3, 10 stitches Cable 1, 16 stitches Cable with Honeycomb Pattern, 18 stitches Diamond Pattern, 18 stitches Lace Cable Pattern, 1 edge stitch.
For shaping increase on both sides alternately in every 2nd and 4th row 34 times 1 stitch (28 times 1 stitch), for size 44/46 additionally in every 2nd row 9 times 1 stitch = 154 (160) stitches.
Work the increased stitches on the right edge in Cable 1 (10 stitches) and Cable 2 (12 stitches), on the left edge 2 times Cable 1 (10 stitches each), remaining stitches in Reverse Stockinette Stitch.
At a height of 40 cm / 15.75 inches bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Pick up 116 stitches along neckline using circular needles, work 2.5 cm / 1 inch in Ribbing Pattern and bind off.
Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
