How to knit the Sweater in Lace Cable Pattern:
Sizes: S/M (L/XL) UK: 10/12 (18/20).
Measurements in cm: bust approx. 88/96 (112/120) cm.
Measurements in inches: bust approx. 34.5/37.8 (44/47.2) in.
Materials:
700 (850) g yarn (52% cotton, 48% acrylic; 115 m/50 g / approx. 126 yds/1.76 oz). Knitting needles: 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm (US 1.5 and 4). Circular needles: 2.5 mm, 40 cm (US 1.5, 16 in).

Ribbing Pattern, needles 2.5 mm: number of stitches multiple of 3.
Row 1 (wrong side): 1 edge stitch, knit 1, * purl 2, knit 1, repeat from *, 1 edge stitch.
Row 2 (right side): 1 edge stitch, purl 1, * slip 1 stitch onto a cable needle and hold it at the back of the work, knit 1, then knit the stitch from the cable needle, purl 1, repeat from *, 1 edge stitch.
Repeat these 2 rows throughout.
Lace Cable Pattern (main pattern), needles 3.5 mm:
Work according to the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
In Row 1 increase stitches as indicated, keeping a distance from the right and left edges.
After Rows 1 and 2, repeat Rows 3 to 18 throughout.

Gauge: 26 stitches x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).

Back:
Cast on 114 (135) stitches and work 6 cm (2.4 in) in Ribbing Pattern.
Continue in the main pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch, 5 (6) pattern repeats, from stitch 1 to stitch 8 of the pattern repeat, 1 edge stitch = 140 (166) stitches after Row 1.
At a height of 64 (69) cm (25.2 (27.2) in) bind off the middle 38 (44) stitches for the neckline, then on both sides bind off in every second row 2 times 3 stitches.
At the same time, for the shoulder slopes bind off in every second row 3 times 11 and 1 time 12 stitches (1 time 13 and 3 times 14 stitches).


Front:
Work as the back, but at a height of 56 (61) cm (22 (24) in) bind off the middle 22 (28) stitches, then on both sides bind off in every second row 2 times 3 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches and 4 times 1 stitch.
At a height of 64 (69) cm (25.2 (27.2) in) work the shoulder slopes as for the back.

For shaping, increase on both sides in every fourth row 25 times 1 stitch, then alternately in every second and fourth row 8 times 1 stitch = 138 (154) stitches.
At a height of 46 cm (18.1 in) bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Pick up 114 (126) stitches along the neckline using circular needles and work 3 cm (1.2 in) in Ribbing Pattern, working in odd rows * knit 2, purl 1 *, and in even rows work as in right-side rows from *.
Sew side seams and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
