Sweater with Butterfly Pattern

How to knit the sweater with butterfly pattern:
Sizes: US 10/12 (14/16) / UK 14/16 (18/20).
Measurements: to fit bust approx. 92–97 (102–107) cm / 36–38 (40–42) in.
Materials:
700 (750) g yarn (50% cotton, 50% viscose: 110 m/50 g). Straight needles size 3 and 3.5 mm (US 2.5 and 4); circular needles size 3 mm (US 2.5) length 40 cm / 16 in.

Ribbing Pattern, needles size 3 mm: * knit 1, purl 1 *.
Stockinette Stitch: right-side rows knit stitches, wrong-side rows purl stitches.
Main Pattern I (over 15 stitches), needles size 3.5 mm:
Work according to the chart, only right-side rows are shown.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1–4 six times = 24 rows.
Gauge Main Pattern I: 15 stitches = 6 cm / 2.4 in wide, 24 rows = 8 cm / 3.1 in high.
Butterfly Pattern (Main Pattern II), (over 12 stitches), needles size 3.5 mm:
Row 1: knit 4, knit 2 together, yarn over, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over, knit 4.
Row 2: purl 3, purl 2 stitches together through the back loop, drop yarn over from previous row (= 1st elongated strand), 2 yarn overs, purl 2 together, purl 3.
Row 3: knit 2, knit 2 together, drop yarn overs from previous row (= 2nd elongated strands), 3 yarn overs, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over, knit 2.
Row 4: purl 1, purl 2 stitches together through the back loop, drop yarn overs from previous row (= 3rd elongated strands), 3 yarn overs, purl 2 together, purl 1.
Row 5: knit 2 together, drop yarn overs from previous row (= 4th elongated strands), from the 4th elongated strands work 4 stitches as follows [knit 1, then place this stitch back onto the left needle and knit again], then in the same way work 2 stitches inserting the needle under all 4 elongated strands together, then again work 4 stitches from the same elongated strands as described in brackets, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over.
Row 6: purl 12.
Repeat Rows 1–6 four times = 24 rows.
Gauge Main Pattern II: 12 stitches = 5 cm / 2 in wide, 24 rows = 8 cm / 3.1 in high.
Intermediate Stripe, needles size 3.5 mm:
Rows 1 and 2: knit.
Rows 3 and 4: purl.
Row 5: edge stitch, * slip 1 purlwise, knit 1, yarn over, then pass slipped stitch over the worked stitch and yarn over, repeat from *, edge stitch.
Row 6: purl.
Row 7: work as Row 5.
Row 8: knit.
Rows 9 and 10: purl.
Gauge: 25 stitches = 10 cm / 4 in wide, 10 rows = 2.5 cm / 1 in high.


Back:
Cast on 126 (134) stitches and work 5 cm / 2 in in Ribbing Pattern, increasing evenly 16 (18) stitches in the last wrong-side row = 142 (152) stitches.
Continue as follows:
Rows 1–24: edge stitch, work stitches 6–15 (1–15) of Main Pattern I, 12 stitches Main Pattern II, * 15 stitches Main Pattern I, 12 stitches Main Pattern II, repeat from * 3 times, work stitches 1–10 (1–15) of Main Pattern I, edge stitch.
Then work 10 rows Intermediate Stripe over all stitches.
Repeat these 34 rows throughout.
At a height of 66 cm / 26 in, for neckline cast off the middle 26 stitches, then on both sides in every 2nd row cast off 5 stitches once and 2 stitches once.
At a height of 68 cm / 26.8 in, cast off remaining shoulder stitches.
Front:
Work as Back, but with deeper neckline.
For this, at a height of 55 cm / 21.7 in, cast off the middle 14 stitches, then on both sides in every 2nd row cast off 4 stitches once, 2 stitches 3 times, and 1 stitch 3 times.
At a height of 68 cm / 26.8 in, cast off remaining shoulder stitches.
Sleeves:
Cast on 52 stitches and work 5 cm / 2 in in Ribbing Pattern, increasing evenly 16 stitches in the last row = 68 stitches.
Then work Main Patterns as for Back, working Row 1 as follows: edge stitch, 12 stitches Main Pattern II, * 15 stitches Main Pattern I, 12 stitches Main Pattern II, repeat from * once, edge stitch.
For sleeve shaping, increase on both sides in every 4th row 25 times 1 stitch, then alternately in every 2nd and 4th row 8 times 1 stitch = 134 stitches.
At a height of 45 cm / 17.7 in – after 24 rows of Main Patterns I and II and 2 rows Stockinette Stitch – cast off all stitches.
Work second sleeve in the same way.
Finishing:
Join shoulder seams.
Pick up approx. 144 stitches around neckline onto circular needles and work 2.5 cm / 1 in in Ribbing Pattern.
Join side seams and sleeve seams, set in sleeves.
