Sweater with Cable and Lace Leaf Pattern

How to knit the sweater with cable and lace leaf pattern:
Sizes: US 10/12 (14/16), UK 14/16 (18/20).

Materials:
800 (850) g of yarn (30 % mohair, 30 % wool, 20 % alpaca, 20 % acrylic; length 80 m/50 g). Knitting needles US size 2.5, 6 and 7; a 16-inch circular needle US size 4.

Main Pattern, needles US size 6:
The number of stitches is divisible by 18.
Row 1 (right side): work all stitches knit.
Row 2 (wrong side): * 7 knit stitches, 4 purl stitches, 7 knit stitches, repeat from *.
Repeat Rows 1–2 throughout.
Gauge: 18 stitches and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Lace Leaf Pattern, needles US size 7:
Work over 26 stitches following the chart.
The chart shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear and purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1–10 throughout.
Note: this pattern begins with 26 stitches, but after Row 1 there remain only 24 stitches. The missing 2 stitches are increased again in Row 1.
The pattern is approximately 13 cm wide.

Cable over 28 stitches, needles US size 7:
Row 1: work all stitches knit.
Row 2: 4 knit stitches, 20 purl stitches, 4 knit stitches.
Rows 3–12: repeat Rows 1–2.
Row 13: 4 knit stitches, slip 10 stitches to a cable needle and hold in front, knit 10 stitches, then knit the stitches from the cable needle, 4 knit stitches.
Row 14: work as Row 2.
Rows 15–28: repeat Rows 1–2.
Repeat Rows 1–28 throughout.
The cable is approximately 10 cm wide.

Ribbing Pattern, needles US size 4: * 2 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches *, repeat throughout.

Back:
Cast on 86 (94) stitches and work 8 cm in ribbing.
In the last row, increase 16 stitches evenly = 102 (110) stitches.
Continue working in Main Pattern and work 1 edge stitch at each side.
For size US 10/12 (UK 14/16), in Row 2 begin and end with 3 knit stitches instead of 7 knit stitches.
At 60 cm in height, work across all stitches with needles US size 6 in ribbing.
At 65 cm in height, bind off 33 (37) stitches for each shoulder and place the central 36 stitches on hold for the neck.

Front:
Cast on 86 (94) stitches and work 8 cm in ribbing.
In the last row, increase 32 stitches evenly = 118 (126) stitches.
Then work as follows:
Edge stitch, 18 (22) stitches Main Pattern, 26 stitches Lace Leaf Pattern, 28 stitches Cable, 26 stitches Lace Leaf Pattern, 18 (22) stitches Main Pattern, edge stitch.
For the larger size, work the Lace Leaf Pattern in Row 2 as 9 knit stitches, 4 purl stitches, 9 knit stitches.
At 58 cm in height, bind off the central 28 stitches for the neck, then bind off at each neck edge in every right-side row: 1 time 4 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches, and 2 times 1 stitch.
At the same time, at 60 cm in height, continue in ribbing with needles US size 6.
In Row 1 of the ribbing section, decrease 2 stitches above the Lace Leaf Pattern.
At 65 cm in height, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.

Sleeves:
Cast on 42 (46) stitches and work 8 cm in ribbing.
In the last row, increase 14 stitches evenly = 56 (60) stitches.
Continue in Main Pattern.
In Row 2 work as follows:
Edge stitch, 2 (4) purl stitches, * 14 knit stitches, 4 purl stitches, repeat from * once, 14 knit stitches, 2 (4) purl stitches, edge stitch.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at each side alternately in every 4th and every 6th row 20 times = 96 (100) stitches.
At 45 cm in height, bind off all stitches.
Work the second sleeve the same way.

Finishing:
Sew all seams and sew in the sleeves.
For the turtleneck, place the 36 held stitches back on the needle, then pick up 68 stitches along the front neckline.
Work 14 cm in ribbing across all 104 stitches using the circular needle.
