Sweater with central cable

How to knit the sweater with central cable:

Size: M.

Materials:
500 g yarn (50% polyacrylic, 50% polyester, 200 m/100 g); knitting needles 5 mm (US 8, UK 6); a cable needle.

Ribbing Pattern 1х1: purl 1 and knit 1 alternately.

Ribbing Pattern 2х2: knit 2 and purl 2 alternately.

Cable pattern:
to follow Chart 1, showing only the right-side rows; on the wrong-side rows, work all stitches as they appear.

Left-leaning cable:
to follow Chart 2, showing only the right-side rows; on the wrong-side rows, work all stitches as they appear.

Right-leaning cable:
to follow Chart 3, showing only the right-side rows; on the wrong-side rows, work all stitches as they appear.

Gauge:
in ribbing pattern 1х1: 26 stitches and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).

Back:
Cast on 100 stitches and work as follows: 36 stitches in ribbing pattern 2х2, 28 stitches in cable pattern, and 36 stitches in ribbing pattern 2х2.
At 6 cm (2.4 in) from the cast-on, continue in ribbing pattern 1х1 on the 36 stitches at both sides, keeping the cable pattern in the center.
At 15 cm (5.9 in) from the cast-on, work as follows: 15 stitches in ribbing pattern 1х1, 16 stitches in right-leaning cable, 5 stitches in ribbing pattern 1х1, 28 stitches in cable pattern, 5 stitches in ribbing pattern 1х1, 16 stitches in left-leaning cable, and 15 stitches in ribbing pattern 1х1.
Work the right and left cables for 20 cm (7.9 in), then continue in ribbing pattern 1х1 at both sides and keep the central cable pattern for another 17 cm (6.7 in), then finish with 5 cm (2.0 in) in ribbing pattern 2х2.
At 43 cm (16.9 in) from the cast-on, for the armholes, decrease 2 stitches at both sides in every 2nd row 16 times.
At 60 cm (23.6 in) from the cast-on, bind off the remaining 36 stitches.

Front: work as for the back.

Sleeves:
Сast on 52 stitches and work as follows: 12 stitches in ribbing pattern 2х2, 28 stitches in cable pattern, and 12 stitches in ribbing pattern 2х2.
At 6 cm (2.4 in) from the cast-on, continue in ribbing pattern 1х1 on the 12 stitches at the edges, keeping the central cable pattern.
for the sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch at both sides in every 2nd row 14 times, to have 80 stitches in total.
At 58 cm (22.8 in) total length, work 5 cm (2.0 in) in ribbing pattern 2х2.
At 46 cm (18.1 in) from the cast-on, for the sleeve cap, decrease 2 stitches at both sides in every 2nd row 13 times.
At 63 cm (24.8 in) from the cast-on, bind off the remaining 28 stitches.
Work the second sleeve in the same way.

Finishing:
Sew the side seams to a length of 43 cm (16.9 in).
Set in the sleeves and sew the sleeve seams.
