Sweater with Checkerboard Pattern

How to knit the sweater with a checkerboard pattern:
Sizes: US 4/6 (10/12) 14/16; UK 6/8 (12/14) 16/18
Materials:
450 (500) 550 g yarn (62% merino wool, 38% polyamide, 105 m / 50 g); straight knitting needles 4 mm and 5 mm (US 6 and US 8); circular knitting needles 4 mm (US 6).

Ribbing Pattern, 4 mm needles (US 6): Work alternately 1 knit stitch and 1 purl stitch.
Checkerboard, 5 mm needles (US 8):
Number of stitches is a multiple of 16 plus 2 (10) 2 plus 2 edge stitches.
Work according to the chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs, or follow the chart symbols.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the pattern repeat, repeat the pattern repeat, end with the last stitch of the chart (stitches after the pattern repeat) and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat rows 1 to 16 throughout.

Gauge: 16 stitches and 25 rows equal 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).

Back:
Cast on 84 (92) 100 stitches and work 3 cm in Ribbing Pattern.
Continue working in the Checkerboard Pattern.
After 38 cm = 96 rows (38 cm = 96 rows) 35 cm = 88 rows from the ribbing, bind off on both sides for the armholes 1 time 8 stitches, 68 (76) 84 stitches remain.
After 61.5 cm = 154 rows from the ribbing, bind off on both sides for the shoulder slopes in every second row 3 times 5 (6) 7 stitches.
At the same time as the first shoulder decrease, bind off the center 22 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
For the neckline shaping, bind off at the inner edge in every second row 1 time 2 stitches and 1 time 1 stitch.
After 64 cm = 160 rows from the ribbing, bind off the remaining 5 (6) 7 shoulder stitches.

Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, after 57 cm = 142 rows from the ribbing, bind off the center 12 stitches and for neckline shaping bind off in every second row 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches and 3 times 1 stitch.

Sleeves:
Cast on 34 (34) 42 stitches and work 3 cm in Ribbing Pattern, at the same time in the last row increase evenly 10 stitches, 44 (44) 52 stitches.
Continue working in the Checkerboard Pattern, begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat 2 (3) times, end with the stitches after the pattern repeat (last stitch of the chart) and 1 edge stitch.
At the same time, shape the sleeve by increasing on both sides from the ribbing 14 (14) 12 times 1 stitch in every sixth row and 2 (2) 5 times 1 stitch in every fourth row, working the increased stitches into the pattern, 76 (76) 86 stitches.
After 43 cm = 108 rows from the ribbing, bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Sew the shoulder seams.
Pick up 70 stitches around the neckline on the circular needles and work 5 cm in Ribbing Pattern, then bind off all stitches as they appear.
Set in the sleeves and sew the side seams and sleeve seams.
