Sweater with Lace and Wave Patterns

How to knit Sweater with Lace and Wave Patterns:
Sizes: UK 10/12 (12/14), US 6/8 (8/10).
Materials:
800 (900) g yarn (50% cotton, 50% acrylic, 109 yds/1.76 oz per 50 g). Straight needles 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm (US 1.5 and US 4); circular needles 2.5 mm (US 1.5).

Garter stitch, 3.5 mm needles (US 4):: right-side and wrong-side rows – knit stitches.
Lace Pattern (Main Pattern), 3.5 mm needles (US 4): multiple of 42 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart 1, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Across begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern stitches, end with 1 edge stitch. (Across begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches from arrow A, repeat the pattern stitches, end with the stitches to arrow B and 1 edge stitch.)
Repeat rows 1 to 16 throughout.
Wave Pattern, 2.5 mm needles (US 1.5): multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart 2, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Across begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern stitches, end with the stitches after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat rows 1 to 14 throughout.
Gauge:
Wave Pattern: 23 stitches and 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in);
Main Pattern: 22.5 stitches and 29.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).

Back:
Cast on 113 (123) stitches and work 12 cm (4.75 in) = 42 rows in Wave Pattern for the hem, increasing evenly 15 (11) stitches in the last row = 128 (134) stitches.
Then work in Main Pattern.
After 57 cm (22.5 in) = 168 rows from hem, bind off the center 42 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off at the inner edge every 2nd row 3 stitches twice.
After 60 cm (23.5 in) = 176 rows from hem, bind off the remaining 37 (40) shoulder stitches.
Front:
Work as Back, but with deeper neckline.
After 53 cm (21 in) = 156 rows from hem, bind off the center 22 stitches and finish both sides separately.
For neck shaping, bind off at the inner edge every 2nd row 3 stitches three times, 2 stitches three times, and 1 stitch once.
Bind off the remaining 37 (40) shoulder stitches at the same height as Back.
Sleeves:
Cast on 43 stitches and work 8 cm (3.25 in) = 28 rows in Wave Pattern for the cuff, increasing evenly 33 stitches in the last row = 76 stitches.
Then work in Main Pattern, beginning with 1 edge stitch and the stitches from arrow C, ending with 1 edge stitch.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping increase on both sides, starting from the cuff, every 4th row 1 stitch 28 times, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern = 132 stitches.
After 39.5 cm (15.5 in) = 116 rows from cuff, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Sew seams, leaving the upper 29.5 cm (11.5 in) of the side seams open for armholes.
For the neckline band, pick up approx. 123 stitches with circular needles and work 4 cm (1.5 in) = 14 rows in Wave Pattern, then bind off all stitches.
Sew the band. Set in sleeves.
