Sweater with Lace Diamond Yoke

How to knit the Sweater with Lace Diamond Yoke:
Sizes: US 6/8 (14/16) / UK 10/12 (18/20) / EU 36/38 (42/44)
Materials:
700 (800) g yarn (100% cotton, 114 yd/50 g); US 2 and US 4 knitting needles (3 mm and 3.5 mm), US C-2 crochet hook (3 mm), and 12 (14) pearls.

Ribbing Pattern, US 2 needles: *k1, p1; repeat from * throughout.

Lace Diamonds, US 4 needles:
Work according to chart, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches and yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with the stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Work Rows 1–42 once.

Lace Pattern, US 4 needles:
Rows 1 and 3: knit all stitches;
Row 2 and all following even-numbered rows: purl all stitches;
Row 5: 1 edge stitch, * k2, yo, k2tog, k6, repeat from *, 1 edge stitch;
Rows 7 and 9: knit all stitches;
Row 11: 1 edge stitch, * k6, yo, k2tog, k2, repeat from *, 1 edge stitch.
Repeat Rows 1–12 throughout.

Gauge: 22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).


Back/Front:
Begin at the upper edge.
Cast on 251 (270) stitches and work 1 wrong-side row purl.
Then work the Lace Diamonds pattern and, after completing Row 42, continue with the Lace Pattern.
After 8 (8.25) in [20 (21) cm] from the beginning, bind off 3 stitches at each side in every 2nd row 23 times = 113 (132) stitches.
After 23.5 (24.5) in [60 (62) cm], work 4 in (10 cm) in Ribbing Pattern, decreasing 13 (16) stitches evenly across the first row = 100 (116) stitches, then bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Leave the 3 Lace Diamonds formed at the center open as the neckline and join all remaining diamonds with pearls.
For size EU 42/44 (US 14/16, UK 18/20), join each half diamond.
For the neckline edging, crochet a chain of the required length and work 1 round of reverse single crochet (crab stitch), then sew it to the pointed corners.
Work sleeve seams along the lower seam line.
Fold the sleeve edges to the inside and sew them in place.
