Sweater with Lace Pattern

How to knit the sweater with lace pattern:
Sizes: UK 12–14 (18–20)/22–24, US 8–10 (14–16)/18–20
Materials:
650 (700/750) g yarn (50% cotton, 50% acrylic: 105 m/50 g ≈ 115 yd/1.76 oz). Needles size 3 mm and 4 mm (US 2.5 and US 6); circular needles size 3 mm (US 2.5) length 40 cm / 16 inches.

Ribbing Pattern, needles 3 mm: * 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch *, repeat.
Cable Pattern, needles 4 mm: number of stitches multiple of 4.
Row 1 (right side): * 1 purl stitch, cross 2 stitches to the right (= slip 1 stitch onto a cable needle and hold at back, knit 1, then knit the stitch from the cable needle), 1 purl stitch, repeat from *.
Row 2: * 1 knit stitch, 2 purl stitches, 1 knit stitch, repeat from *.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2.
Lace Stripes (over 10 stitches), needles 4 mm:
Row 1: * 1 purl stitch, 4 knit stitches, (1 yarn over, 2 stitches knit together through the back loop) twice, 1 purl stitch, repeat from *.
Rows 2 and 4: work stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Row 3: * 1 purl stitch, (2 stitches knit together, 1 yarn over) twice, 4 knit stitches, 1 purl stitch, repeat from *.
Repeat Rows 1 to 4.
Lace Pattern (over 23 stitches), needles 4 mm:
Work according to chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1 to 22.

Gauge:
Cable Pattern: 28 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches.
Lace Stripes: 10 stitches = 5 cm / 2 inches wide.
Lace Pattern: 23 stitches = 10 cm / 4 inches wide.


Front:
Cast on 110 (124/138) stitches and work 4 cm / 1.6 inches in Ribbing Pattern, in the last row increase evenly 25 (27/29) stitches = 135 (151/167) stitches.
Then work as follows: 1 edge stitch, 20 (28/36) stitches Cable Pattern, 10 stitches Lace Stripe, 4 stitches Cable Pattern, 10 stitches Lace Stripe, 12 stitches Cable Pattern, 23 stitches Lace Pattern, * 4 stitches Cable Pattern, 10 stitches Lace Stripe, repeat from * twice more, 12 (20/28) stitches Cable Pattern, 1 edge stitch.
At a height of 40 (41/42) cm / 15.7 (16.1/16.5) inches, bind off for armholes on both sides every 2nd row 1 time 3 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches and 5 times 1 stitch = 111 (127/143) stitches.
At a height of 54 (56/58) cm / 21.3 (22/22.8) inches, bind off for neckline the middle 13 stitches, then on both sides every 2nd row bind off 1 time 3 stitches, 3 times 2 stitches and 6 times 1 stitch.
At a height of 65 (67/69) cm / 25.6 (26.4/27.2) inches, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.

Back:
Work as Front up to neckline, arranging the patterns in mirror image.
At a height of 63 (65/67) cm / 24.8 (25.6/26.4) inches, bind off for neckline the middle 29 stitches, then on both sides every 2nd row bind off 1 time 5 stitches and 1 time 2 stitches.
At a height of 65 (67/69) cm / 25.6 (26.4/27.2) inches, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.

Sleeves:
Cast on 60 (66/70) stitches and work 5 cm / 2 inches in Ribbing Pattern, in the last row increase evenly 17 (19/23) stitches = 77 (85/93) stitches.
Then work as follows: 1 edge stitch, 12 (16/20) stitches Cable Pattern, 10 stitches Lace Stripe, 4 stitches Cable Pattern, 23 stitches Lace Pattern, 4 stitches Cable Pattern, 10 stitches Lace Stripe, 12 (16/20) stitches Cable Pattern, 1 edge stitch.
For sleeve shaping, increase on both sides for sizes UK 12–14 and 18–20 alternately every 2nd and 4th row 20 times 1 stitch (22 times 1 stitch), then every 2nd row 6 times 1 stitch (3 times 1 stitch); for size 22–24 alternately every 2nd and 4th row 24 times 1 stitch = 129 (435/141) stitches.
Work the increased stitches in Cable Pattern.
At a height of 30 cm / 11.8 inches, bind off on both sides 1 time 5 stitches, then every 2nd row 2 times 4 stitches, 2 times 3 stitches and 2 times 4 stitches, then bind off the remaining stitches.

Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Pick up 120 stitches along neckline with circular needles, work 2.5 cm / 1 inch in Ribbing Pattern and bind off in pattern.
Sew side seams and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
