Sweater with Lace Pattern
How to knit the Sweater with Lace Pattern:
Size: EU 38–40 (UK 10–12, US 6–8).
Materials:
200 g yarn (40% mohair, 60% acrylic, 500 m/100 g / approx. 547 yds/3.5 oz), needles 3.5 mm (US 4), crochet hook 2 mm (US B/1).
Ribbing Pattern: alternately 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.
Lace Pattern:
Work according to the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Gauge:
Ribbing Pattern: 18 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in),
Lace Pattern: 15 stitches x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in).
Back:
Cast on 74 stitches and work the first 45 rows = 14 cm (5.5 in) in Lace Pattern.
Then work 19 cm (7.5 in) in Ribbing Pattern.
For armholes, decrease on both sides in every 2nd row 2 times 3 stitches and 1 time 1 stitch.
Then work straight.
At 52 cm (20.5 in) from cast-on, for neckline bind off the middle 24 stitches, in the next row bind off 1 stitch on the inner sides.
Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neckline.
For this, at 30 cm (11.8 in) from the beginning of the Ribbing Pattern, bind off the middle 2 stitches and on both sides of them in every 2nd row decrease 4 times 1 stitch.
In the next row increase 1 stitch on both sides, then in every 2nd row decrease 1 time 4 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches, 1 time 2 stitches and 1 time 1 stitch.
Sleeves:
Cast on 34 stitches and work 10 cm (4 in) in Ribbing Pattern.
Then continue in Lace Pattern.
Work 87 rows, increasing evenly 46 stitches = 80 stitches.
Then decrease every 4th stitch and work 3 cm (1.2 in) in Ribbing Pattern.
For sleeve cap, bind off 4 stitches on both sides, then in every 2nd row decrease 1 time 2 stitches and 4 times 1 stitch.
Then work 10 rows straight, after that in every 2nd row decrease 1 time 1 stitch, 1 time 2 stitches, 1 time 3 stitches and 1 time 4 stitches.
Finishing:
Join the shoulder seams.
Crochet the neckline with single crochet stitches.
Join the side and sleeve seams. Set in the sleeves.
