Sweater with Leaf Pattern

How to knit the sweater with leaf pattern:
Sizes: US 6–8 / UK 10–12 and US 14–16 / UK 18–20.
Materials:
23 (26) oz yarn (100% cotton; 131 yd/1.76 oz); knitting needles US 3 and US 6; circular knitting needle US 4, 16 in long.
Ribbing Pattern, knitting needles US 3: work alternately 1 knit stitch and 1 purl stitch.
Stockinette Stitch, knitting needles US 6: right-side rows – knit stitches, wrong-side rows – purl stitches.
Leaf Pattern (main pattern, knitting needles US 6):
Work according to the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
Repeat Rows 1 to 24 throughout.
Gauge: 27 stitches and 30 rows = 4 x 4 in.
Back:
Cast on 126 (144) stitches and work 2 3/4 in in Ribbing Pattern, at the same time evenly increase 21 (23) stitches in the last row = 147 (167) stitches.
Continue as follows: edge stitch, 2 stitches in Stockinette Stitch, main pattern stitches before the repeat, 6 (7) repeats, stitches after the repeat, 2 stitches in Stockinette Stitch, edge stitch.
At a height of 25 1/2 (27) in, bind off the center 35 (41) stitches for the neckline, then bind off 3 stitches twice on each side in every second row.
At a height of 26 1/2 (28) in, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.
Front:
Work as for the back, but start the main pattern with Row 13 of the chart.
For the neckline, at a height of 23 1/4 (24 3/4) in, bind off the center 19 (25) stitches, then bind off on each side in every second row 2 times 3 stitches, 2 times 2 stitches, and 4 times 1 stitch.
At a height of 26 1/2 (28) in, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.
Sweater with Leaf Pattern
Sleeves:
Cast on 48 (56) stitches and work 2 3/4 in in Ribbing Pattern, at the same time evenly increase 35 (27) stitches in the last row = 83 stitches.
Continue in the main pattern, working the first row as follows: edge stitch, stitches before the repeat, 3 repeats, stitches after the repeat, edge stitch.
For the sleeve shaping, increase 1 stitch on each side every fourth row 26 times (11 times), then alternately every second and fourth row 4 times (24 times) = 143 (153) stitches.
At a height of 18 1/2 in, bind off all stitches.
Work the second sleeve in the same way.
Finishing:
Sew the seams and set in the sleeves.
Along the neckline, pick up about 116 stitches with the circular knitting needle and work 2 1/4 in in knit stitches, then bind off.
