Sweater with Round Yoke

How to knit the Sweater with Round Yoke:
Sizes: 36/38 (40/42) EU — UK 8/10 (12/14) — US 4/6 (8/10)
Material:
450 (500) g yarn (50% cotton, 50% polyacrylic, 125 m / 137 yd per 50 g); straight and circular needles 3.5 mm (US 4); crochet hook 3.5 mm (US E-4).
Lace pattern: number of stitches is a multiple of 6 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart 1, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, purl the yarn overs.
In even rounds of circular knitting, knit the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the pattern repeat, repeat the pattern repeat, finish with the stitches after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat rows 1–4 throughout.
Zigzag pattern: number of stitches is a multiple of 12 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart 2, which shows right-side rows only.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear, knit the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the pattern repeat, repeat the pattern repeat, finish with the stitches after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Work rows 1–10 once.
Crochet lace pattern:
Work in rounds according to chart 3.
Begin with the stitches before the pattern repeat, repeat the pattern repeat, finish with the stitches after the repeat.
Replace the first double crochet of every round with 3 chain stitches and finish the round with 1 slip stitch into the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning.
Work rounds 1–9 once.


Gauge:
in lace pattern and zigzag pattern: 23.5 stitches and 32 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 in).
Back/Front:
Cast on 110 (122) stitches and work in lace pattern.
After 38 cm / 15 in = 122 rows from the cast-on edge, work 10 rows in zigzag pattern.
At the same time, after 40 cm / 15.75 in = 128 rows from the cast-on edge, bind off for the armholes on both sides 4 stitches and in the following 2nd row 1 × 3 stitches.
After 41 cm / 16.25 in = 132 rows from the cast-on edge, leave the remaining 96 (108) stitches.
Sleeves:
Cast on 56 stitches and work in lace pattern, begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern repeat, finish with 2 stitches after the repeat and 1 edge stitch.
At the same time, from the cast-on edge increase for sleeve shaping on both sides in every 10th row 2 × 1 stitch and in every 8th row 12 × 1 stitch = 86 stitches, including the increased stitches in the pattern.
After 38 cm / 15 in = 122 rows from the cast-on edge, work 10 rows in zigzag pattern.
At the same time, after 40 cm / 15.75 in = 128 rows from the cast-on edge, make the armhole decreases on both sides as for the back.
After 41 cm / 16.25 in = 132 rows from the cast-on edge, leave the remaining 72 stitches.
Finishing:
Place the held stitches of the back, first sleeve, front and second sleeve onto circular needles = 336 (360) stitches and work in rounds in lace pattern without edge stitches.
At a yoke height of 3.5 cm / 1.4 in = 12 rounds (5 cm / 2 in = 16 rounds), for narrowing the width work every 2 purl stitches together purlwise = 280 (300) stitches.
At a yoke height of 8 cm / 3.15 in = 26 rounds (9.5 cm / 3.75 in = 30 rounds), bind off all stitches.
Crochet the bound-off edge with the lace pattern, inserting the hook in the first round for each group of double crochet stitches into 1 purl stitch of the lace pattern = 56 (60) groups of double crochet stitches.
After 9 rounds, finish the yoke.
Work all seams.
