Sweater with Wave Pattern

How to knit the Sweater with Wave Pattern:
Sizes: UK 10/12 (UK 14/16) / US 6/8 (US 10/12)
Materials:
450 (550) g yarn (50% cotton, 35% viscose, 15% polyester; 125 m/50 g / approx. 137 yd/50 g); needles UK 7 / US 7 (4.5 mm); crochet hook UK 7 / US G-6 (4 mm).
Stockinette stitch: on right-side rows knit stitches, on wrong-side rows purl stitches.
Wave Pattern: number of stitches multiple of 16 + 3 + 2 edge stitches.
Work according to chart, which shows right-side and wrong-side rows.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and stitches before the pattern repeat, repeat the pattern repeat throughout, end with stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Repeat from Row 1 to Row 26.
Gauge:
Stockinette stitch: 20 stitches and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in;
Wave Pattern: 23 stitches and 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in.

Back:
Cast on 117 (133) stitches and work in Wave Pattern.
After 30.5 cm / 12 in = 92 rows (34.5 cm / 13.5 in = 104 rows) from cast-on, bind off 9 stitches at both sides for armholes = 99 (115) stitches.
Attention! To keep the number of yarn overs equal to the number of stitches worked together in one row, from now on in every 5th to 11th row do not work the double decrease as shown, but decrease as follows:
at the beginning of a right-side row purl 2 stitches together, at the end purl 2 stitches together through the back loop;
at the beginning of a wrong-side row work 2 stitches together with slip-slip-pass-over (slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 stitch and pass the slipped stitch over), at the end knit 2 stitches together.
After 52 cm / 20.5 in = 156 rows (60.5 cm / 24 in = 182 rows) from cast-on, bind off all stitches, the middle 65 (71) stitches form the neckline.
Front:
Work as for Back, but with slit.
For this, after 48 cm / 19 in = 144 rows (56.5 cm / 22 in = 170 rows) bind off the middle stitch and finish both sides separately.
Then for size UK 14/16 / US 10/12, on wrong-side rows after the slit knit 2 stitches together and on right-side rows purl 2 stitches together.
For the second shoulder side, before the slit on wrong-side rows work 2 stitches together with slip-slip-pass-over, on right-side rows purl 2 stitches together through the back loop.
After 52 cm / 20.5 in = 156 rows (60.5 cm / 24 in = 182 rows) from cast-on, bind off 49 (57) stitches on each side, the inner 32 (35) stitches form the neckline.
Sleeves:
Cast on 56 (66) stitches and work 1 wrong-side row knit stitches, this row is not counted.
Then work in Stockinette stitch.
After 10.5 cm / 4 in = 30 rows (8.5 cm / 3.5 in = 24 rows) from cast-on, increase for sleeve shaping 1 stitch at both sides and in every 4th row 14 (18) x 1 stitch = 86 (104) stitches.
After 36.5 cm / 14.5 in = 102 rows (40 cm / 15.5 in = 112 rows) from cast-on, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Crochet the slit edges and neckline with 1 round of crab stitch (single crochet worked from left to right).
Set in sleeves, work side seams and sleeve seams.
