Sweater with Wave Pattern
How to knit the Sweater with Wave Pattern:
Size: US 8 / UK 12
Materials:
700 g of yarn (70% acrylic, 30% wool, 166 m/100 g). Knitting needles size US 10½ (6.5 mm). Circular needles size US 10 (6.0 mm) with a 24 in (60 cm) cable.
Stockinette Stitch: knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side.
Wave Pattern:
Work according to the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches and yarn overs.
Repeat rows 1–12 continuously in height.
Gauge:
17 stitches × 20 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 in) in Wave Pattern using 6.5 mm (US 10½) needles.
Back:
Cast on 79 stitches with 6.5 mm (US 10½) needles and work in Wave Pattern.
After 40 cm (15¾ in) from the cast-on edge, for the armholes, bind off at each side in every 2nd row: 3 stitches once, 2 stitches once, and 1 stitch once.
At 56 cm (22 in) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.
Front:
Work as for the back until the piece measures 52 cm (20½ in).
At this point, for the neckline, bind off the center 11 stitches and finish each side separately.
For shaping the neckline, bind off 3 stitches twice at each neckline edge in every 2nd row.
At 56 cm (22 in) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.
Sleeves:
Cast on 46 stitches with 6.5 mm (US 10½) needles and work 4 cm (1½ in) in Stockinette Stitch.
Then continue in Wave Pattern.
After 44 cm (17¼ in) from the cast-on edge, for sleeve caps, bind off at each side 1 stitch in every 2nd row 15 times.
At 56 cm (22 in) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
With circular needles, pick up 60 stitches evenly around the neckline along the right side and work 4 cm (1½ in) in Stockinette Stitch. Bind off all stitches.
Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
