Textured Sweater Knitting Pattern

Detailed instructions for knitting a textured sweater.
Sizes: UK 8/10 (12/14) 16/18, US 4/6 (8/10) 12/14.
Materials: Yarn (40 percent modal, 30 percent polyamide, 15 percent cashmere, 15 percent silk; 100 m per 50 g) and straight needles and circular needles 7 mm.

Stockinette stitch: On right-side rows work knit stitches, on wrong-side rows work purl stitches.
Reverse stockinette stitch: On right-side rows work purl stitches, on wrong-side rows work knit stitches.
Textured pattern: Work with an even number of stitches.
Begin each row with 1 edge stitch and end each row with 1 edge stitch.
On right-side rows work 1 edge stitch, * work 1 yarn over, work the next 2 stitches together knitwise without dropping them from the left needle, work 1 yarn over, then work both stitches together knitwise once again and only then drop them from the left needle *, repeat the section between the asterisks throughout and end with 1 edge stitch.
On wrong-side rows work 1 edge stitch, then throughout work each pair of stitches, consisting of 1 stitch and 1 yarn over from the previous row, together purlwise and end with 1 edge stitch.
Ribbing Pattern: Work with an even number of stitches.
Work 1 edge stitch, then alternately work 1 knit stitch and 1 purl stitch and end with 1 edge stitch.
Horizontal stripe pattern: Alternately work 2 rows in Stockinette stitch and 2 rows in Reverse stockinette stitch.
Sleeve pattern: Work over 40 (42) 44 stitches.
Rows 1 to 10: Work 12 stitches in the horizontal stripe pattern, work 16 (18) 20 stitches in the textured pattern and work 12 stitches in the horizontal stripe pattern.
Rows 11 to 20: Work 12 stitches in the textured pattern, work 16 (18) 20 stitches in the horizontal stripe pattern and work 12 stitches in the textured pattern.

I cord edging: Cast on 3 stitches and slip them to the left needle in front of the remaining stitches.
Work 2 knit stitches, then work 2 stitches together using a slip slip pass over by slipping 1 stitch knitwise, working 1 knit stitch and passing the slipped stitch over it.
Slip the 3 stitches back to the left needle again and draw the working yarn tightly behind the work to the beginning of the row.
Repeat this sequence throughout until all stitches are bound off.
Bind off the remaining 3 stitches of the edging and join them to the stitches of the cast on edge.

Gauge: For the textured pattern and Stockinette stitch on the front and back 19 stitches and 17 rows equal 10 x 10 cm.
For the sleeve pattern 15 stitches and 22.5 rows equal 10 x 10 cm.

Important: Due to the diagonal direction of the stitch columns, the lower edge of the front and back protrudes in the centre in a pointed shape and the neckline forms a V shape.

Back:
Cast on 88 (96) 104 stitches and work as follows.
Work 1 edge stitch, work 10 (10) 12 stitches in the textured pattern, work 10 (12) 12 stitches in Stockinette stitch, work 10 (10) 12 stitches in the textured pattern, work 10 (12) 12 stitches in Stockinette stitch, work 6 stitches in Stockinette stitch as the centre stitches, work 10 (12) 12 stitches in Stockinette stitch, work 10 (10) 12 stitches in the textured pattern, work 10 (12) 12 stitches in Stockinette stitch, work 10 (10) 12 stitches in the textured pattern and end with 1 edge stitch.
Mark the central 6 stitches.
At the same time from the cast on edge for the diagonal shape increase 1 stitch on each side every 2nd row 54 times.
Work the first 10 (12) 12 increases in Stockinette stitch, work the next 10 (10) 12 increases in the textured pattern and work the remaining 34 (32) 30 increases in Stockinette stitch.
At the same time from the cast on edge every 4th row decrease 2 stitches 27 times on each side of the central 6 stitches by working the last 2 stitches before the centre together with the first centre stitch knitwise and by working the last centre stitch together with the following 2 stitches using a double slip slip pass over by slipping 1 stitch knitwise, working the next 2 stitches together knitwise and passing the slipped stitch over.
The total number of stitches remains unchanged.
After 66 cm or 112 rows from the cast on edge bind off all stitches.
The central 30 (34) 38 stitches form the neckline and the outer 29 (31) 33 stitches form the shoulders.

Front: Work in the same way as the back.

Sleeves:
For each sleeve cast on 40 (42) 44 stitches.
Work 5 cm in Ribbing Pattern for the lower edging and in the last wrong-side row increase 1 stitch on each side, resulting in 42 (44) 46 stitches.
Continue working between the edge stitches in the sleeve pattern.
At the same time for the sleeve shaping from the lower edging increase 1 stitch on each side every 10th row 8 times, every 8th row 10 times and every 6th row 12 times, working the stitches continuously into the side pattern without starting a new pattern, resulting in 58 (64) 70 stitches.
After 40 cm or 90 rows from the lower edging bind off all stitches.

Finishing:
Join the shoulder seams.
Pick up 62 (70) 78 stitches around the neckline on the circular needles and work the I cord edging.
Set in the sleeves.
Join the side seams and sleeve seams.
