How to work the Top with Lace Pattern:
Sizes: US 8 (US 10/12) US 14
Finished measurements:
Bust circumference – 96 (110) 124 cm / 37.75 (43.25) 48.75 inches;
Length – 57 (64) 66 cm / 22.5 (25.25) 26 inches.
Materials:
350 (400) 450 g yarn (100% mercerized cotton, 214 m/234 yd per 100 g/3.5 oz), US 4 (3.5 mm) knitting needles.

Rib pattern: alternate 1 purl stitch, 1 knit stitch.

Lace pattern:
Work according to charts 1 and 2.
Begin with 1 edge stitch and the stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with the stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

Gauge:
Lace pattern: 26 stitches and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches);
Rib pattern: 23 stitches and 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches).

Back:
Cast on 128 (146) 164 stitches and work 1 wrong-side row knit.
Continue in the lace pattern according to chart 1 as follows: 12 stitches before the pattern repeat, 6 (7) 8 repeats of 18 stitches and 8 stitches after the pattern repeat.
Repeat rows 1-16 7 (8) 8 times and then work rows 1-3 of chart 1 once more.
Then, from the wrong side, work row 4 of chart 2, evenly decreasing 41 (47) 53 stitches = 87 (99) 111 stitches.
Continue in rib pattern, beginning and ending the row with a knit stitch.
For the neckline, when the rib pattern measures 11 (12.5) 14.5 cm / 4.25 (5) 5.75 inches, bind off the center 39 (39) 41 stitches and finish both sides separately.
When the rib pattern measures 16 (17.5) 19.5 cm / 6.25 (7) 7.75 inches, bind off the remaining 24 (30) 35 shoulder stitches.

Front:
Work as for the back, only with a deeper neckline.
For this, when the rib pattern measures 4 (5.5) 7.5 cm / 1.5 (2.25) 3 inches, bind off the center 39 (39) 41 stitches and finish both sides separately.
When the rib pattern measures 12 cm / 4.75 inches, bind off the remaining 24 (30) 35 stitches.

Finishing:
Join the shoulder seams.
Join the side seams, leaving 19 (21) 23 cm / 7.5 (8.25) 9 inches open for the armholes.
