How to knit the 3d Relief Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 6 stitches + 3 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 17 stitches (6 + 6 + 3 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate Right Side rows, and at left edge Wrong Side rows.
The pattern repeat = 6 stitches wide.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
Written Instructions:
Rows 1 and 3 (right side): edge stitch, * p3, k3 *; repeat from * to *; p3, edge stitch.
Row 2 (wrong side): edge stitch, k3, * p3, k3 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.
Rows 4 and 6: Knit.
Row 5: Purl.
Rows 7 and 9: edge stitch, * k3, p3 *; repeat from * to *; k3, edge stitch.
Row 8: edge stitch, p3, * k3, p3 *; repeat from * to *; edge stitch.
Rows 10 and 12: Purl.
Row 11: Knit.
