How to knit Checker Lace Cable Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 20 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 22 stitches (20 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows only Right Side Rows.
On Wrong Side Rows, work all stitches as they appear, purl any yarn-over loops.
The pattern repeat = 20 stitches wide.
Repeat the pattern between edge stitches throughout.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
yo: Yarn Over
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
C4F: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K2, K2 from cable needle
C4B: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K2, K2 from cable needle

Row 5: edge stitch, * p1, k8, p2, k1, (skpo, yo) twice, k3, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
Row 7: edge stitch, * p1, C4B, C4F, p2, C4B, C4F, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
Row 9: edge stitch, * p1, k1, (skpo, yo) 3 times, k1, p2, k8, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
