Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern #65
How to knit the Checker Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 32 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 35 stitches (32 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to сhart.
The chart shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear.
The pattern repeat is 32 stitches wide.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern throughout, end with 1 stitch after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Abbreviation:
k: knit stitch
p: purl stitch
p1b (purl into stitch below): insert the right needle into the stitch one row below, purl 1, letting the stitch from the left needle drop
cross 4 left (p/k): slip 3 sts to cable needle, hold to front, P1, K3 from cable needle
cross 4 right (k/p): slip 1 stitch to cable needle, hold to back, K3, P1 from cable needle
cross 4 right: slip 1 stitch to cable needle, hold to back, K3, K1 from cable needle
cross 4 left: slip 3 stitches to cable needle, hold to front, K1, K3 from cable needle
