Diamond Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 23 stitches (5 + 10 + 6 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.

The chart shows only the right-side rows.

On the wrong-side rows, purl all the stitches and any yarn overs.

The pattern repeat is 10 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 5 stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 6 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

k: knit

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, k1, k2tog, yo, k2, * k3, yo, skpo, k1, k2tog, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k3, yo, skpo, k1, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 3: edge stitch, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, * k2, yo, skpo, yo, cdd, yo, k2tog, yo, k1  *; repeat from * to *; k2, (yo, skpo) twice, edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, * k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice *; repeat from * to *; k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, edge stitch.

Row 7: work as for Row 3.

Row 9: work as for Row 1.
