How to knit the Lace Checker Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 3 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 15 stitches (10 + 3 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to сhart.
The chart shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches and the yarn overs.
The pattern repeat is 10 stitches wide.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 3 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
yo: Yarn Over.
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
Written row-by-row instructions:
Rows 1, 3 and 5 (right side): 1 edge stitch, * p3, k7 *; repeat from * to *; end with p3, 1 edge stitch.
Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): purl all stitches and the yarn overs.
Rows 7, 9 and 11: 1 edge stitch, k4, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p3, 1 edge stitch.
Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout.
