Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 12 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 15 stitches (12 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.

The chart shows 2 rows: 1 right-side row (odd-numbered) and 1 wrong-side row (even-numbered).

The numbers on the right indicate the right-side row, and those on the left the wrong-side row.

Read the right-side row from right to left and the wrong-side row from left to right.

The pattern repeat is 12 stitches wide.

k: knit

p: purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together as one

p2tog tbl: purl 2 stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * k1, (yo, k2tog) twice, yo, cdd, yo, (skpo, yo) twice *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge stitch.

Row 2 (wrong side): edge stitch, p1, * p1, (yo, p2tog tbl) twice, p1, (p2tog, yo) twice, p2 *; repeat from * to *; end with edge stitch.

Repeat these 2 rows for pattern.
