Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit the Lace Pattern: 

Work with a multiple of 12 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 27 stitches (6 + 12 + 7 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only right-side rows.

On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches and the yarn overs.

The pattern repeat is 12 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 6 stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 7 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

k: knit stitch

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Written Instructions: 

Rows 1, 3 and 5 (right side): edge stitch, k1, yo, k4, * cdd, k4, yo, k1, yo, k4 *; repeat from * to *; end with cdd, k4, yo, k1, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 7: edge stitch, k2, yo, k2tog, k2, * k3, skpo, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with k3, skpo, yo, k2, edge stitch.

Row 9: edge stitch, k3, yo, k2tog, k1, * k2, skpo, yo, k5, yo, k2tog, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, skpo, yo, k3, edge stitch.

Repeat rows 1-10 throughout.
