Leaf Knitting Stitch

Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 23 stitches (5 + 10 + 6 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all stitches and yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat = 10 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 stitch and 5 stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 6 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 stitch.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1 (right side): edge st, k3, k2tog, yo, * k1, yo, skpo, k5, k2tog, yo *; repeat from * to *; k1, yo, skpo, k3, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.
