Textured Elongated Stitch Pattern #73

How to knit the Textured Elongated Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 8 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 18 stitches (8 stitches 2 times + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.
The chart shows right-side and wrong-side rows.
The numbers at the right edge indicate right-side rows, and those at the left edge indicate wrong-side rows.
Read right-side rows from right to left, wrong-side rows from left to right.
The pattern repeat is 8 stitches wide.
Repeat pattern between edge stitches throughout.

Abbreviation:
k: knit stitch
p: purl stitch
p3tog: purl 3 stitches together

cross 2 sts right: skip 1 st, knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
cross 2 sts left: knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
elongated double draw stitch: insert the needle between the 3rd and 2nd stitches and draw up a loop, yarn over, insert again between the same stitches and draw up another loop, then knit 2 stitches together through the back loop

Row 1 (right side): 1 edge stitch, * k1, cross 2 sts left, elongated double draw stitch, cross 2 sts right, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch.

Row 2 (wrong side): 1 edge stitch, * p4, p3tog, p3 *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch.
Row 3: 1 edge stitch, * k1, cross 2 sts right, p2, cross 2 sts left, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch.
