How to knit the Textured Oval Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 8 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 19 stitches (8 + 8 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.
The chart shows right-side and wrong-side rows.
The numbers at the right edge indicate right-side rows, and those at the left edge indicate wrong-side rows.
Read right-side rows from right to left and wrong-side rows from left to right.
The pattern repeat is 8 stitches wide.
Begin with the 1st wrong-side row.

Row 1 (wrong side): 1 edge stitch, purl 1 stitch, *knit 1 stitch, purl 1 stitch, knit 5 stitches, purl 1 stitch*, repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch.
