Zigzag Stitch Knitting Pattern #23

How to knit the Zigzag Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 14 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 16 stitches (14 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work all stitches as they appear.
The pattern repeat is 14 stitches wide.
Repeat the pattern between edge stitches throughout.

Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
cross 2 stitches right (k1+p1): knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, purl the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
cross 2 stitches left (p1+k1): purl 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

Written Instructions:
Row 1: 1 edge stitch, * p1, cross 2 stitches right 3 times, k1, cross 2 stitches left 3 times *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch
Row 2 and 4: work all stitches as they appear.
Row 3: 1 edge stitch, * cross 2 stitches right 3 times, k1, cross 2 stitches left 3 times *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, 1 edge stitch.
Repeat Rows 1-4 throughout.
