How to knit the Pullover with Fancy Pattern:
Sizes: EU 36/38 (42/44) / US 6–8 (10–12) / UK 10–12 (14–16)
Material:
550 (650) g yarn (50% cotton, 50% polyacrylic, 153 yds/50 g), knitting needles size US 2½ and US 4 (3 mm and 3.5 mm), circular needles size US 2½ (3 mm).
Stockinette stitch, needles size US 2½ (3 mm):
Work in rows: knit on right side, purl on wrong side.
In the round: work all stitches knit.
Number of stitches multiple of 21 + 1 + 2 edge stitches.
Work from the chart, which shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work the stitches as they appear or as instructed, purl the yarn overs.
Begin with 1 edge stitch, repeat the stitches of the pattern repeat, end with the stitches before arrow A and 1 edge stitch.
Gauge: 23.5 sts and 35.5 rows = 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm).
Back:
Cast on 122 (143) sts and work 1¼ in (3 cm) in stockinette stitch for the border.
Continue in fancy pattern.
After 14¼ in (36.5 cm) = 130 rows (13½ in (34.5 cm) = 122 rows) from the border, bind off at each side for armholes 2 sts once, then bind off 2 sts twice and 1 st eight times in every right-side row = 94 (115) sts.
After 23½ in (60 cm) = 212 rows from the border, bind off at each side for shoulder shaping 5 (6) sts once, then bind off 5 (7) sts four times in every right-side row.
At the same time, with the first shoulder shaping, bind off the center 24 (27) sts for the neck and finish each side separately.
For the neck shaping, bind off at the inner edge 4 sts once and 3 sts twice in every right-side row.
After 24½ in (62 cm) = 220 rows from the border, bind off all stitches.
Front:
Work as for the back, but with a deeper neck.
For this, after 20¾ in (53 cm) = 188 rows from the border, bind off the center 10 (13) sts, then bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts four times, and 1 st three times in every right-side row, then 1 st three times in every 4th row.
Sleeves:
Cast on 51 sts and work 1¼ in (3 cm) in stockinette stitch for the border.
Continue in fancy pattern, starting with 1 edge stitch and the stitches from arrow B, work 1 pattern repeat, end with the stitches before arrow C and 1 edge stitch.
At the same time, for sleeve shaping, increase 1 st at each side every 6th row 7 times and every 4th row 23 times (every 4th row 33 times and every 2nd row 2 times) = 111 (121) sts, incorporating the increased stitches into the pattern.
For the sleeve cap, after 15¼ in (39 cm) = 138 rows from the border, bind off 2 sts once at each side, then bind off 2 sts twice and 1 st eight times in every right-side row.
After 17¾ in (45 cm) = 160 rows from the border, bind off the remaining 83 (93) sts.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
From the neckline, pick up 106 (112) sts with circular needles and work 1½ in (4 cm) in stockinette stitch for the neckband, then bind off all sts loosely.
Sew in sleeves, sew side and sleeve seams.
